WOOT - short week this week so it IS another reason just to celebrate, have a beer or two or even a cuppa, taking refuge from the beating sun @ Lounge or Space, which are of course, fully air-conditioned.

Tuesday and Wednesday

Grooveworks has returned with the presence of Greg Lyons – direct from Narita and they play their hearts out with passion for this genre called Jazz. 9pm onwards @ Space

Thursday

We kid you not when we tell you even those with 2 left feet can dance. Under the excellent tutelege of teacherbug from Jitterbugs OR get Danny, our resident Magician to cast you a spell. Complimentary taster class to Lindy Hop from 7:30pm @ Cafe. Danny and dance dance dance till midnight as DJ spins charleston, swing and big band music. does his suave moves from 8pm onwards.

Friday

Fuze Collective featuring Mohd Noor on percussion and his very talented friends on the other instruments starts off some music greatness from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Don’t be fooled by my cavalier tone, these players are magic, all of them.

Allen RosaAllen Rosa knocked on our door from Brazil en route to STGCC in Suntec and how can we say no to such a talent :) 10pm @ Lounge
A Drum and Bass Dj & Producer, he is one of the few Brazilian survivors from the analog technology of the real vinyl records. His style is not just the “drum and bass” label,  its a world wide music into the future, another vision of today, a future contemporary music. In creative terms its a drum n bass that smells fresh like the future, synthetic, funky and trippy. But we could define it as Electrostep / Liquid-Funk / Half Step… Fresh vinyl recordings and heavy mix skills to touch the mind and body. Its a ghetto blaster combining different musical genres between the the synth basslines and broken beats.

Mark Chee and friends play an eclectic mix for our enjoyment and the wild bunch of carousing 30-somethings will only draw inspiration from indie type sounds and the rock scene. 9:30pm onwards @ Space

SATURDAY

Ayaschool is on a 3 week break and while our Cafe promises some kick a$$ acts with Laruen Munguia headlining the gig this week. Mesmerising audience both with her voice and her musical ability (flautist), you should have at least one drink’s worth of listen. 9:30pm @ Cafe

We’re happy to be part of Fakie Invader‘s official launch – a new label for stunts enthusiasts – from Skateboarders to BMX riders, Fakie is an original that embodies spirt. Featuring DJ Kiat, MC Kane, DJ Ademus and DJ Kulki (from Indonesia), they’ll take Lounge and fill it with drum and bass. 9:30pm onwards @ LOUNGE

And if you’re up for something a little darker and walk on the strange side. Singapore Dark Alternative Movement host its 2nd Original Sin – Dust off those trailing cobwebs and rediscover the classic sounds of darkwave as we bring back the golden age of music originating from the 1970s all the way to the present.  From post punk to dark pop, new wave to gothic rock, this is the time to revel in the extensive spectrum of underground music–all with a sinister spank. 9pm onwards @ Space. Attire: Cross Dressing

Peace out, ya’ll
