Two long weekends in a row but Blu Jaz keeps her doors open for our regulars who swing by. Our first Swing Fling last thursday gave Space a time freeze feel with dancers coming decked in their finery from the Charleston era. For the month of May, do join us for our weekly lindy hop open floor with complimentary lesson from Sing of Jitterbugs Dance School.

Blu Jaz would also like to say hi to our new staff @ Cafe – so please be patient while we help each other along and we regretfully say “see you again” to Joy who is pursuing her degree back home in the Philippines.

14th May (Thursday)

Swing Fling commences from 7:15pm with a 45 in trial class with the teacherbugs of Jitterbugs Swingapore @ Cafe. swingxpress2DJ spins 1920s – 1940s jazz, blues, lindy hop songs  (and sometimes more contemporary hits – depending on her mood!) for our dancing friends. Did you know that Lindy Hop was created for those with 2 left feet. So no more excuses, let’s chase those blues away with some boogie!

15th May (Friday)

Cafe plays host as usual to top notch jazz music with Greg Lyon’s Quartet giving us some quintessential sounds. From 9:30pm onwards

Dustpan Recording is going to kick up a storm with their monthly feel-good, smashin’ mixes from 9pm @ Lounge. Featuring Kane Ian, Todd Omotani and Ming Knackle, you shouldn’t miss this party if you’re a house lover.

Angelina returns to BluJaz to lend some hip swaying action with her superb belly dancing set. From 8:30pm onwards.

16th May (Saturday)

Need your weekly fix of some Aya? It’s here again – Ayaschool and nothing beats Aya and her friends when it comes to crazy experimental rhythms and melody. This is individiualism expression at its pinnacle. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

Need another sort of party? No fear both Lounge and Space see some brilliant DJs this Saturday!
