MONDAY - it’s an open mic night @ LOUNGE with a $4 door charge. Destination: INK is an open mic catered to all stories. Whether born as poems, prose, scripts, music or a mix heritage of multimedia gadgetry, bring them down for a playdate with other words. We’re growing d:INK as an incubator for all your experiments. Test out new material, meet future collaborators or just hang out with friends. Registration, pre-event, required with Nabilah at 9644 1826.

TUESDAY: OotinI! Presents “The Lotus Hunt: Redux”: Traipsing from tango, reggae, and dangdut to calypso, whilst conjuring odd-time rhythmic spells, Ootini is a spectacular gamble purveying worldbeat and neo-soul with inflections of math rock. Citing diverse influences like Opeth, Nitin Sawhney, Rupa & The April Fishes, Pat Metheny and Sara Tavares, Ootini’s music tips a nod to the intrepid listener with a discerning appetite for cultural explorations. 8:30pm onwards

WEDNESDAY: Join Eddy and gang @ Cafe for a wonderful jam session – great music, great vibes! 9:30pm onwards. Head on up to SPACE for our weekly special – STAND UP COMEDY - it’s a night of tickling your funny bone. $15 to enter.

THURSDAY: More wit exchange with “Fight Comic – presented by The Comedy Pimp” @ Space. Doors open at 8pm and fight starts at 9pm. $10 for entry.

FRIDAY: And it’s the Anne Weerapass quartet coming right on stage to entertain you to set the mood for the weekend. An evening of upbeat funk and smooth soul, let Anne and crew entertain you. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Angelina takes the temperature up a notch from 10:30pm with her hot and spicy moves – Middle Eastern Dance at its finest.
Head on up to Space for The Blackberries. This 5 piece band delivers and eclectic range with the rock/pop genre and promises great rock saxphone solos. Made up of a veritable United Nations of musicians, The Blackberries features Shanghai’s answer to Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries on vocals Berry Ni, and four lucky lads who get to play along with her â True Brit Mike Sutcliffe on Drums, ‘Suff Effrican’ Richard Kohler on Guitar & Vocals, fellow Shanghainese Roger “Waters” He on Bass Guitar, and New Zealand’s 67th most famous export, Greg “Lord Saxmonster” Sullivan on Sax, Vocals and pretty much anything else he can get his hands on to play! $10 cover.

SATURDAY: Aya comes together with Singapore’s whacky and talented to play some awesome kick855 jazz @ Cafe. Head on up to Lounge for HOPSCOTCH to boogie to garage/house – electronica of danceable tempo. 9:30pm onwards.
