Chill out either with us at the Cafe for some scrumptious food or some quality time with some friends @ Space with chilled out sound… but What better way to welcome Santa & Christmas with a Phuzed Night….Jingle your night away to the merriest sounds of reggae…funk..soul….and ride to the harded beats of house..tech house….techno…laid out by your fellow beat maestros Anand,Joshua P and Sivanesh X….

26th December – Boxing Day

Monster Trio comes on at its regular time slot but sans Greg as he takes a short break. Fendi helms the group with beautiful vocals and leaves us with some soul and jazz. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe (1st Flr)

27th December  – Ayaschool and some of the Wicked boys as  well as special guests jam @ Cafe. Sets are always lively and enthralling. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe (1st flr)

15th – 20th Dec

No doubt the weather seems a tad bit dreary but the silver lining is in the change of our supposedly one season temperature all year round -allowing for hot chocolates, warmer fashion, brandy and whiskey to get the nice warmth in our tummies.  We, the people of BLu Jaz, pledge ourselves to consistent friendly service and good food for our customers. And this week, a few highlights amongst our regular music makers.

17th Dec – Wed – Grooveworks with Greg Lyons @ Cafe (1st Flr) Set starts at 9pm

18th Dec – Thurs – Lila Drums’ last gig of the year and they be taking a break in 2009 @ Cafe (1st Flr) Set starts at 8:30pm – so come on down to catch some truly heartfelt African Drumming if you have not already done so.

19th Dec – Fri – Monster Trio – 9:30pm @ Cafe (1st Flr) Good Jazz. Need I say more?

DJ Luna spins @ Lounge (2nd Flr) from 9pm onwards. We’ll ease you, ladies and gentlemen, with some chilled tracks before revving it up to some electronic fused sounds.

And for those who are marching to a different beat – or entirely different culture, in this case, belly dance performance commences at 9:30pm @ Space (3rd Flr)

20th Dec – Sat – Ayaschool – 9:30pm @ Cafe (1st Flr) produces mean sounds. Infectious too. Aya and some of the Wicked boys will do us the honour again (and again – YAY!) with their passion and talent.

DJ of the Night:

DJ Xenon from Germany has been doing sound since 1991 in clubs, festivals and underground parties from Germany, Chile, France, Poland, Hungary to Croatia.  His music is a mixture of Groovy House and Minimal with sometimes a touch of Progressive.

From 2000 to 2007, he was broadcasting regularly at a free German radio station, Bermudafunk. As Xenon Projects, he has produced club music from 1998 – 2007, worked along with several artists on ambient/chillout projects and produced dancehall reggae tunes with artists from all over Europe.

Hot Stuff in Dec

Ok boys and girls, we like to party but to the the beats of our own rhythm. Ending date of our Hafla series this year will be the 20th Dec where you’re really encouraged to do the Cleopatra and shimmy your hips like no tomorrow.

Of course we’re having a Christmas Eve’s Party – 24th Dec sees new DJs Josh and Anan – electro house with latin influence, the boys have played at Butter Factory, Hideout, MOS, The clinic and they’re gracing Blu Jaz with their presence.

And we definitely have GOOD TIMES taking over Blu Jaz on NYE

9th Dec – 13th Dec

We’re BACK! And we’re all excited about our upcoming Christmas Eve’s and NYE’s party… we’re featuring new DJs – Josh and Anan @ Lounge with their special brand of electro house – akan datang… Good Times takes over Blu Jaz on NYE and guarantees you… GOOD TIMES! (like duh!)
So what about this week? here you go…

10th Dec – Groove Works with accessible but kick a55 jazz from 9pm with Greg Lyons leading the band of his merry men. Where? Cafe – 1st Flr.

12th Dec – Greg Lyons and his Monster Trio comes in with his regular set to give us somemore awe inspiring jazz from 9:30pm onwards: Where? Cafe – 1st Flr (Lounge and Space are reserved for private events – so book a table, ladies and gentlemen – ain’t no upward movement on that day )

13th Dec – If you missed Budi’s celebration last Sat, this is your chance to STILL catch Aya and her crazy friends – always a party, we promise you vibes so good that you never stop smiling. 9:30pm onwards: Where? Cafe – 1st Flr

Tis the season to be Merry

Omniform kickstarts December on their new schedule on Monday on the very 1st of December @ Cafe. For those who missed out, they’re back on the 5th Jan with some more great tunes – original compositions and arrangements by Mr Greg Lyons himself.
Grooveworks settles the mid week nicely with our jazz afcionados on Wed 3rd Dec @ Cafe (1st Flr) from 9pm onwards.

Monster Trio starts the weekend with a bang on Friday 5th Dec @ Cafe (1st Flr) from 9:30pm onwards. But if you fancy a different sort of party, join Kyoko, our belly dancer @ Space (3rd Flr) for her performance, starting from 9:30pm onwards.

Ayaschool finishes off the a weekend @ Blu Jaz with her wicked boys on percussion and Budi on vox on Saturday 6th Dec @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. But we’re giving a shoutout to all our Thai friends as Sawadee Ka is here again @ Lounge (2nd Flr) from 9pm onwards with homegrown Live Thai Music
