It’s the end of the month and I’m looking forward to good things coming – including my monthly influx to my wallet and we’re definitely pleased to end off Feb with a party – compliments of Pushin’ On

Come Friday, we see Greg and his Monster Trio more than hold fort @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards – in fact, they’ll woo and astound your aural sensibilites with great sounds.

Pushin’On – Bigger, Fresher, Funkier
Singapore’s only regular funk night is heating up with an act that last appeared in Nov’ 08. This month, the Pushin’On crew proudly presents the return of the Lion City Orchestra with a new and bigger line-up. The LCO will play 90 minutes of furious funk and gritty soul, never before heard “live” in Singapore.  And that’s just for starters.
Then you take over the floor with music from DJ Shellsuit, DJ Chunk and special guest DJ Funk B**tard. They’ve found dancefloor heaters from year-end digging around the world, and want to play it to you first. Just show your love by dancing.

And on Saturday, Ayaschool is IN DA HOUSE with her spunk, passion and love for jazz and TOGETHER with Jackson Twinz on voacls, Willy Gathright on bass and Robert Nalin on Drums – let them take you on their craaazzyyy journey of some funky music – from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.

March Highlight Parties

Good Times start the ball rollin on the 6th march with their B-Boy, hip hop sounds @ Lounge.

We introduce a new DJ from Petstov Recordings @ Space on the 7th march. All the way from Spain, DJ Franco not only mixes but produces his own sounds, drawing inspiration from nature – his way is the path of a minimalist.

And on the 14th March, 44Beatz return with their eclectic mix of dance music @ Space, bringing you an intimate party either to chill or rev up.

Dustpan Recordings carry on with a 2nd showing on the 20th March with one of the best mixes of House @ Lounge

Pushin’ On closes the month of March on the 27th with funk, soul and their magic @ Lounge.

16th Feb – 21st Feb

Loads of parties this week! We give you our usual and wonderful standard chilled ambience from Monday to Thursday before we let lose our talented musicians and performance artistes.

20th Feb – Friday

Greg takes his crew (and you) on a magical jazz experience with their groovy sounds. @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards

Dustpan Recordings makes their debut at Blu Jaz Lounge (2nd Flr) from 9pm onwards. Having thrown parties in New York and Miami’s annual Winter Music Conference, Singapore’s premier underground house music label is back to throw it down “Dustpan Style”. Bring your dancing shoes for a night of beautiful house music, good people and warm vibes.

Angelina revisits us for her belly dance performance from 9pm onwards @ Blu Jaz Space (3rd Flr) – so if you need some inspiration to move those hips, go on up and wave a hello.

21st Feb – Saturday

Ayaschool returns with a new host of guests – starring Fendi on vocals, Md Noor on percussion, Casey on bass and of course Aya on keyboard – with this combination and Md Noor’s craaaazy rhythms – be sure that your feet won’t stay still. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

We step back in time to the Charleston era with Swing Fling – dancers from Jitterbugs celebrating their  end of their South East Asian Lindy Hop workshop with Sing on DJ consol – spinning out only the best jitter-dance music – come join them for a night of twirls and jumps. 10pm onwards @ Lounge (2nd Flr)

We see a collaboration between our belly dancers from our monthly Hafla and the DJs from 44beatz. Celebrating the month of love, we show: self – love. Love, respect for dance and our bodies, we pay homage to music and dance forms with Middle Eastern Culture as roots. This is the evening where we welcome both brothers and sisters to express themselves through and type of dance. So, explore, experiment and express yourselves.  44 Beatz will blend Arabian mysticism with Hi-Tech Soul. Become one with the Halfa, the evening starts with Raqs Sharqi*.

As the lights go down the Djs from 44 beatz will spice things up, merging Acid Jazz, and Techouse with tripped-out-Breaks. Relaxed or fever pitched it’s your call. They’ll provide the soundtrack you can paint the picture.

9th Feb – 14th Feb

This is supposedly the month of love but we say, it is ALWAYS about love.. among friends, between lovers and among families….. this week we have our regular bands @ Cafe to bring us some astounding sounds.

13th Feb – Fri

It dun mean nothin’ bada$$ just groove right on down with Greg’s Monster Trio @ Cafe from 9:30pm. Our Lounge and Space are closed for private party.

14th Feb – Sat

Let Ayaschool show you their lurrrve, for music, for friends – set starts at 9:30pm @ Cafe.

And if you would like to experience a little Thai cutlure, our regular clients are throwing a party consisting of amateur band players to bring some good vibes from our neighbour up North… Space from 9pm onwards.

Parties coming in Feb: We welcome an additonal player to our Lounge on 20th – Dustpan Recordings featuring Ian and gang. Definitely no newbie to the scene, Dustpan has been churning out house tracks for more than 4 years.

Our Hafla combines on the 21st combines with 44 Beatz on the 21st @ Space to give you some very belly good arabica electronica.

And we close with our usual, outstanding funk, soul jam with Pushin’On reving up Lounge on the 27th.
