lo!
We managed to crawl out and up from the numerous after F1 parties to welcome you back for a sobering but delightful lunch on Monday. And this week, we intend to gift you with a space to nurse your body back to party state just in time for the weekend. So come on down to Blu Jaz – with 5 areas of choice: Cafe/Lounge/Space/Muzium/Potter’s Place – to put your feet up with a few friends.
And when you’re ready for Friday night, so will we! Pocket Sessions with Willy on bass, Shawn on Keys and Sax and Pablo on drums will certainly help bring our energy up nicely – funk, soul, jazz with some edge. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Good Times teams up with Meshradio to bring you its biggest line-up yet. Headlining is DJ Ramesh, head honcho of Meshradio and a true pioneer of the local underground sound. Expect an unpredictable mix of quality tunes from Singapore’s foremost purveyor of forward-thinking dance music. In support are DJs Joshua P and Kenneth F, Meshradio’s resident champions of Breaks and House. If bass is more your taste, Submerge and Presha will be dropping some low frequency flavour in the form of Dubstep, Drum & Bass and all that good stuff in between till the wee hours of the morn. You bring the good vibes and Good Times will settle the rest. 9pm @ Lounge.
And then comes Saturday and we can’t miss AYASCHOOL! Playing loud and clear from their hearts, these kick-ass musicians add them colors to our cafe and bump up the fun factor by a notch or two. Expect interesting improvisations and good vibes. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And if you’re feeling the mood of some hip hop – join us for Flyin’ Colors. An event that celebrates the re-birth and the timeless, vintage sounds of Hip Hop culture. A collaboration of beat smiths, rappers, DJs both local and international will bring you the latest banging urban joints for them dusty beats, dirty bass lines and much soul. 10pm onwards @ Lounge. Cover – SGD 5 for guys, free if they like your threads.
Peace Out!

So we’ve partnered up with the pottery pple next to the MUZIUM and have decided to go a little cultural with the new sitting space. For those who are completely unaware – we’ve actually added on to our menu some Middle Eastern fare (GREAT Falafels – and not cos I’m paid to say that) @ Muzium. So if you’re looking for a quiet chat surrounded by Chinese Royalties’ past outfits and fancy glancing at some Balinese type puppets – head on over to our new kid on the block. Grub’s the same and so are our smiles!

It’s a gorgeous week, if I may say so – be it rain or shine, there is beauty if you look for it. We are hoppin’ beans and lollipops about this week and with good reason. We chase them MONDAY work blues with some great jazz – Jazz Colonies-helmed by Darren Moore (and no, not married to Demi Moore – lame I know but it’s still early in the week) is a night where musicians play where their hearts lead. Greg Lyons Trio and Susan’s Little Big Band take over. Vastly different styles from both groups allow our listener the sounds of improvisation with intimacy with Greg and some swing out, uptempo – dare I say – happy melodies from the Little Big Band. Starts 8:30pm with cover of SGD 10 @ Space
Keeping with our tradition of giving our artistes space – Cotton island and Ghost will do their spot of indie and cover renditions on THURSDAY @ Space from 8pm. No cover so head on up for some fresh sounds.
And because it’s the last FRIDAY of the month, we’re in for a cool treat with Pushin’ On sliding behind the decks @ Lounge AND Space from 9pm onwards. Featuring KFC & J-Styles, this is going to be a full rock out party – nothing sedated bout the boys nor their music.
It’s something special if you have Aya back to back – catch her and her wonderfully, crazy, talented, brilliant, passionate, enthusiastic (now I can go on with some adjectives but you get the drift) friends both FRIDAY and SATURDAY @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. (ppssttt – drop a happy birthday to our drummer on Friday and you may be rewarded with some of Darryl’s sweet solos)
And if you still haven’t danced yr butt off properly on Friday, 44 Beatz is here to the scratch that itch – dishing out an ever evolving, eclectic mix from jazz to house, breaks, indie, dubstep and techno, they take Lounge this SATURDAY from 9:30pm onwards. Don’t Play, Tis Serious Stuff.
Peace Out. Yo.
