We’re heading up the spiral and speed is picking up  glorious partying involved. With a smorgasbord of events to choose from, it’s going to be coffee and redbull to see us through workdays! (Bosses – apologies in advance!)
It’s the first WEDNESDAY of the month, we be happy to announce that Matrix Jam IS happening and be you musician or singer, come on up to LOUNGE for a jam session  - hosted by George – it’s jazz, funk and soul from 8pm onwards.
Feeling the itch? You want a Fling? You GOT A fling – Swing Fling that is.. first Thursday of the month sees the lindy hoppers from Jitterbugs school, dressed to the nines and dancing the night away. New to the scene or your feet curious? Well, look for SING for the complimentary demo and then just join in the fray. 8pm onwards @ Cafe
We welcome back Pocket Sessions with Willy giving some sexy on bass on FRIDAY. It’ll be a good good night – no pop, no rock – just the smooth sounds of jazz with loads of soul. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. The Good Times party shouts out and you have no choice but to head on up to Lounge where it’s funk lovin’ and groovin’ with DJs and live performances. Jamming. Smoking. Truly. 9:30pm onwards.
And it’s a mid-weekend party with AYASCHOOL and the SATURDAY always delivers… Â fun, heart and excellent sounds – it’s improvisational, eclectic and juicy… all from 9:30pm @ Cafe. And we throw in a little of South East Asian spices with our Thai friends putting up some Thai rock @ Space. 9:30pm onwards – a stage-ful of professionals moonlighting as Thai Rock Stars at night – this would be a fun night with popular radio hits.

We’re gearing up for a new baby in the family and she is going to be brazen, moody, lovely, spicy all roll into one. She’ll just be a block down the street from us and we’re real happy to see her birth. As for her name – tune in to catch the christening of the new kid on the block.
Midweek Wednesday calls for a celebration because you’ve survived Monday blues and Tuesday tedium. So Funky Monkeys have the honour to encompass your listening mind with notes of funk, reggae and some soul. 8pm onwards @ Space
And Thursday sees Singapore’s talent on stage with Poetry Slam Night. Watch poets and spoken word artists perform their original poems over a 3-round competition. If your poetic side needs a go, you’re given 3 minutes to express yourself and then a round robin style to find the favorite for the night. Judges are randomly selected from the audience will score the poems based on content, performance and audience reaction. The Slam is hosted by Arianna Pozzuoli and will feature guest singer and songwriter Guro Røberg. Get on stage and Slam, or kick back, grab a drink and soak up the live action on stage. SGD 7 cover charge and winner goes home with SGD 75. 8pm onwards @ Space
To celebrate the end of the work week, we have Fuze Collective in the house this Friday – guaranteed to melt all stress away when you start a-groovin’ to Noor’s magic beats. 9:30pm @ Cafe. And for those even more energetic, Pushin’On blows in the doors of both Lounge and Space with Dance Sucka from 9pm . It’s their annual dance jam where poppers and lockers pose, strut their stuff. It has been taught in most major dance studios and dancers have gone on to compete in Korea, Japan and the US. We always encourage people to dance, but this time you might want to book a massage for the day after.

And we welcome another new face to the Soundscapes line up. Dan Buckley joins us fresssh from the UK to lay down an infamous blend of jacked up tech fuelled beatz and electro. Back once again to twist your soul and trick your mind is RTYPE dubstep conisseur and cosmic funk aficionado, no-one can take you deeper.  Still shacking from his Lush FM debut Clark our very own electro renegade and techno evangelist is primed and set to get your hands in the air with an explosive box of late night crackers.  9pm onwards @ Lounge. If rock is in your blood that night, catch Leonie Hill‘s last performance of the year @ Blu Jaz Space – 9pm onwards

WOOT! It’s a short work week all around with the break smack in the middle of the week. And this means, making merry can last till the wee, wee hours in the morning and at Blu Jaz – we welcome you with open arms, well doors, really.
So it’s the weekend treats we’re looking for and there they are – M.I.G is on premises with some great funky sounds on FRIDAY from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Noor plays a mean beat and we love him all the more for it. It’ll be dance mode late into the night. And on SATURDAY, it’s time for school but only the fun class – Let’s give it up for our prof in the class – Ms AYA Sekine! Her crew and her will bring you to new musical high. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And feel free to toggle cos right up @ LOUNGE, we feature Lupa Band and DJ SHINE with more chilled out grooves from the Jamaican islands… Reggae is king. 9:30pm onwards.

… and it’s an apology for the late update because we had a SMASHIN’ Stand Up session last night – where the cutting with of Mr Jonathon Atheron spiced up this open mic night…. but don’t worry – they will be back again – next month – save your WEDNESDAY next month and unleash the funnyman in you!
THURSDAY is close enough to Friday and by de facto, the weekend – ta da! So come on out and play – or rather drink, eat and make merry because we are rolling the carpet out for the newbie in the house – The Inter-minds – 5 pc Jazz band, whistling, crooning, strumming, hitting beautiful sounds from CAFE. 9pm onwards TONIGHT!
It’d double trouble AND double fun this weekend with Aya x 2! In Aya’s words: FRIDAY sees a “serious (not seriel) killer session with “JAZZ & HENDRIX“ featuring Bani Rahman(bass/vocal), Regi Leo(guitar), Tan Boon Gee(drums) and AYA SEKINE on keys. Bani is a bassist but he sings like Hendrix…without drugs and alcohol. We have seriel ‘killer’ tunes. See ya tmrw night. Don’t miss!” From 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

If you missed Omniform last night, just remember – EVERY FIRST MONDAY of the month, Blu Jaz hosts a great 13pc band – mounting unique jazz sounds to the airwaves.
WEDNESDAY - it’s special, Music for Humanity @ Space from 8pm onwards – say what? Music for Humanity! It’s an evening where international folks get together to raise funds for Burmese, seeking asylum and also Nepalese children living in the remote areas. There will be performances by Australian singer songwriter event organizer Laura Jean, Japanese Sarod Maestra Yuzuru, genius local pianist Tze, tap dancing duo The Rhubarb Jam from Japan and France, fusion sounds of Trip Circle and progressive grooves of DJ Nstomp. The music will stem from a wide range of influences such as world, spiritual, traditional, classical, jazz, progressive, folk, electronic and acoustic.
THURSDAY - and to tide you over to the weekend, we present the very happy, shiny, swingin’ people! It’s Swing Fling @ Cafe from 8pm onwards. From the studios of Jitterbugs, we bring boogie woogie and some cool tunes to dance the night away.
FRIDAY - come park yourself and treat yourself to quality jazz with tunes from Greg Lyons’ Trio. It’s a party sans noise but music to ears. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.
And seeing that it’s the FIRST FRIDAY of the MONTH - Good Times roll right by and on UP to Lounge. 9:30pm onwards and it’s full of yummy good stuff that your ears and soul would love. Funky! So come on by!
SATURDAY - like religion, we have faith – that AYASCHOOL will deliver the bestest, coolest, everything -est music. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. It’s a date!
