A brand new day, a brand new week and we sink our teeth into the arts, commencing with the anniversary celebration of the SPORE ART SALON on TUESDAY. It promises to be a night of new works from visual artists, conversation and exploration with other performing artistes. SGD 7 cover. Commences @ Space from 7pm onwards

Come WEDNESDAY, Eddy’s Jam Session is back in the house with more talents and groovy music to see you past mid-week. 9pm onwards @ Cafe, music is on the house while you dine on our varied menu.

And on THURSDAY, head on up to LOUNGE while ECLECTICA explores multiple musical genre using various instruments such as the Harmonica Sitar, Saxophone and Flute. 8pm onwards.

Kicking start the weekend, on FRIDAY, is GREG LYONS and his band of music merry making fellows. Jazz is a must and all others will compliment. Sweet sound of music starts from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And of course, it being the 1st Friday of the month, GOOD TIMES turns the heat up with funky grooves and cool tunes. 9:30 pm onwards @ Lounge. Expect the usual collision of Hip-Hop, House, Dubstep, Drum & Bass and more, set against the cosiest, most laidback joint in Singapore.

And ending the week @ Blu Jaz is AYASCHOOL. This time round, they be exploring more contemporary sounds with Shawn Letts on sax, Christy Smith on bass, Eddie Layman drums and of course, Aya on keys. They kick off from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe so don’t you miss them.

At the 2nd floor SoulStrut is debuting their night at Blujaz, come and feel good music, enjoy bumpin’ good time, a beautiful crowd, and zero pretension. It’s a Soulcentric Music Club night that will touch your soul, make you feel good, lift you up, and make you get down with your bad self! Check your attitude at the door, and bring your boogie shoes to the dance floor.

It’s rainy season and you know it with us being rained on almost every afternoon. Come take refuge @ our friendly cafe with our famous seafood sambal fried rice or a beer for company.

Music accompaniment starts on TUESDAY with TwentyNine-Eleven – a band of LaSalle musicians led by Jeremy Tordjman, introducing some jazz classics to your ears. 9:30pm onwards @ Lounge. Entry is almost compulsory and definitely complimentary.

And on WEDNESDAY, Eddy’s Jam Session is back and kicking for another mesmerizing session. Set starts at 9pm and won’t stop till we close! (or in the region of)

If the spoken word is your love, hang out with the guys @ POETRY SLAM this THURSDAY @ SPACE. The ‘hearing’ commences at 8pm.

The velvet voice is back @ Blu Jaz Cafe. Come FRIDAY, Fendi and his crew might make you sigh and swoon over his soulful funk sounds. 9:30pm onwards. And Pushin’On does a special as it’s their LAST PARTY OF 2011! The night sees The Mighty Mighty and guests, Renee Smith on vocals and Ad Jeuken on keys bring the house down, followed by resident and guest DJs, featuring:
DJ Shellsuit – Reggae/Hip-hop crossover rarities
DJ Dave Code – Funk, Boogie and Hip-hop edits
DJ Chunk – Afro Funk and Boogie edits with a splash of party breaks

OMNIFORM plays tonight! It’s a cool MONDAY evening when 11 talented musicians gather together to send out some great vibes of original music. 9pm @ Cafe

Come TUESDAY, we invite you to join INSIGHT up @ Space from 8:30pm onwards for an unique sonic experience. A young jazz guitarist, eager to expand his musical horizon, met a symphonic metal singer with a burning passion for music and formed an acoustic duo that aims to push the boundary of typical ‘acoustic’ music. But this Tuesday, they are backed by a 4-strong band, performing arrangements and originals by guitarist Amos Tadete!

And on WEDNESDAY – it’s EDDY’s JAM SESSION @ Cafe – a night of experimental jazz sounds for the discerning ear. 9pm onwards.

If you’re looking for a different sort of  Wednesday night, come on down to blink bl_nk. It’s a great night of speakers, music, and good old fashioned socializing. It’s a classic blinkBL-NK grab bag this month, so please come down and enjoy the variety. And remember, do come early so you have time to grab a good seat and nosh on some tasty Blu Jaz eats before the fun begins. Donation of $5 to support blinkBL_NK is encouraged. 7:30pm onwards @ Space

Because everyone loves a good laugh, we have MARK ZHANG - our stand up comedian for the week. Mark Zhang makes a special appearance at Blu Jaz LOUNGE on THURSDAY. Zhang has carved a name for himself as a leading Asian American comedian. He has performed at venues worldwide, and was a finalist in the San Francisco “Walk the Plank” Comedy Competition and at the Northern California Improv Comedy Competition. He has also appeared on Comedy Time TV and Last Comic Standing on NBC. 9pm onwards.
And if it’s music you’re craving for, head on up to SPACE. JEREMY TORDJMAN GROUP brings you great music. In Singapore, featuring: BARRY LIKUMAHUWA (Top bass player from Indonesia),ERIK HARGROVE from USA (ex-drummer of James Brown, Bootsy Collins & more), the well known top artist from Singapore JEREMY MONTEIRO on Keyboard, JEREMY TORDJMAN on Guitar. Blue Monks make their appearance at @ Cafe this FRIDAY. Bani, bassist, and his gang are together to give out some soul and funk with dabble of jazz. 9:30pm onwards.
INCOMA encompasses a group of young DJs who will be playing their hearts out @ LOUNGE. Eclectic is the music but friendlier to the masses – they throw in some 80′s tunes and mash ups. 9:30pm onwards

SATURDAY sees AYASCHOOL as our headliner @ Cafe. 9:30pm onwards for 3 great sets of mind-blowing music. Aya on keys, Darryl Ervin on drums and Christy Smith on bass.

If you need to feel some CARNIVALE energy this weekend, our sister outlet – Piedra Negra – is throwing a party on SATURDAYBRAZILIAN style – RITMO DE BRASIL. Watch a spectacular display of Capoeira feats and acrobatics by international Capoeira artists from Brazil, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Philipines and Malaysia. Be intrigued by “Maculele”, an Afro-Brazilian tribal dance derived from traditional Brazilian folklore. Be part of the first Brazilian Forro party in Singapore. Sensual Sambistas accompanied by an authentic Batucada band to get you on your feet and dancing to the rousing rhythms of Brazil. It’s a short work week and certainly a great fun week…. with… STAND UP FOR SINGAPORE on WEDNESDAY - a night of aspiring comedians. Head right on up to SPACE from 8:30pm onwards – cover is SGD 15 to help the event go a long way. And if you are craving a jam, it’s EDDY’s JAM SESSION @ Cafe from 9pm onwards – great music, good food – what are you waiting for?

Kerong, our lovely keyboardist, is back with friends to create music mayhem this THURSDAY @ SPACE. Cover is a mere SGD 15 and all go to the artistes. 8.30pm onwards for notes afloat.

Come FRIDAY, MIG rules Cafe with snazzy jazz – MIG being Muhd Noor, Casey S and Leo – the smooth, sexy, dark sounds from this trio. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Dance away in the Milkyway – featuring DJ FOXXXY, DJ STARLITE, DJ HARDBREAKER - to whip up your weekend appetites through different genres of music, churning out their best anthems that ravaged dancefloors. The swag that speaks for itself. 9:30pm onwards @ Lounge

And our SATURDAY needs no introduction with AYASCHOOL serving up hits of jazz, soul and funk. A promising night of pushing music boundaries, inspired by popular favorites. DJ KoFlow on decks/MPC, Casey on bass, Erik Hargrove on drums and, of course, Aya on keys. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. CHROAM fills up LOUNGE and SPACE with more cool eletronnica sounds ranging from minimalist to house. 9:30pm onwards.
