It has been a looonnnggg weekend for those World Cup fans and I’m sure the midnight oil keep on a burning and if you feel like catching some atmosphere along with the match, come on up to SPACE for viewings, complete with a beverage variety – served with a smile. And for those who aren’t into 22 men chasing after one ball, come on down anyway for a lovely cuppa or two @ Cafe or Lounge.

And those ultra enthusiastic AND talented (didn’t think we’ll fob off bad music to you, would you?!) musicians are back on Tuesday with Grooveworks kicking some jazz your way. 9pm onwards @ Cafe

And if you didn’t get enough of that sweet taste, Grooveworks II (TWO for those who don’t do Roman numerals) plays on from 9pm @ Cafe on Wednesday. But if you feel a different sort of groove stealin’ over that body of yours, DJ Divine has the right fix for you with some cool Reggae to set the mid-week chilled mood. 9pm onwards @ Lounge. And if it’s some intellectual stimuli you’re craving for, Blink Bl_nk has the answer for you. Join them for edification, conversation and libation with topics on Barefoot Running, How to Flirt for Fun and Profit and Elevating the Debate on Queer Issues in Singapore: What Can Be Done. 7pm onwards @ Space

We’re doing a swap-a-roo with Ayaschool bringing down the house for the start of the weekend. It’s FUNK on Friday with DJ KoFlow, Casey on bass, Noor on drums and Aya on keys. 9:30pm onwards (so good that you might skip the 22 men and 1 ball) But just in case you still can’t let them go – I know – hot stuff right? Serbia vs Germany @ 7:15pm @ Space and US vs Slovenia @ 10pm @ Space.

Fancy more cool jazz to bring up your temperature? Then join Greg Lyon’s crew @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards on Saturday. And Coup plays electronica for those a dancin’ peeps. From House to Techno to Minimalist, their set eclectic and oh so sweet. 9:30pm onwards @ Lounge. So, party on guys, we’ve already go seats reserved and tables to dance on – what you waiting for?

Peace Out!

It’s equally cerebral and physical. avneesh takes it up a notch with the techier and funkier sound of techno, he’ll elevate your mind, spreading synths and intricate beats to form patterns in your heads. get a good spot and dance to it.
artihc will continue rolling out the tougher and bouncier spectrum of minimal and techno, without making you bang your head on the wall (or each other). clean, introspective music for discerning and extroverted foot soldiers. yes, you. to make it more decadently tuneful, we’ll bring you new elements into play: delicate melodies, vocals, classical piano, jazz twangs, house tones and percussions, to create something much closer, in spirit, to the mischievous warmth of other dance music genres that you probably are more familiar with. this is your heart-felt rhythmic techno night. feel it.

If you’ve got a music craving tonight, do swing by as OMNIFORM will be strutting their sheets of music – all originals – composed by Greg Lyons. Let this night set the mood right for the rest of the week. 9pm onwards @ Cafe

It’s like Birthday Week @ Blu Jaz- celebrating it on a THURSDAY @ Space is our wonderful handsome Monsieur Ben – the go-to guy for Blu Jaz Events. (go on up to Space to say hi!) AND for our great partner in music – Good Times are taking the three floors to blow the candles this FRIDAY from 9pm onwards. Lastly and without question by no means least Soundscape is once again privileged to have X’ho back amongst us. Musician, producer, poet and host of Lush FM’s Clubscape this man is without doubt a custodian of Singapore’s electronic scene.

One hopes that the weekend provided sufficient fun and rest and while the rest of us drones head on back to the 4 walls where our income is generated, our friends are certainly planning a swish, a swoosh and a bang for us this week @ cafe. While we do not have any programs planned for the public today and tomorrow, you’re more than welcome to drop by for an unwinding session with our mojito or a chat with our colleagues working the tables. And then, there is the rest of the week:

WEDNESDAY
It’s a full house this mid-week where you can choose to hang with Grooveworks @ Cafe from 9pm onwards for some seriously fun jazz OR head on up to Lounge with Matrix Jam if you’re a musician. Jam session is opened to all jazz loving players (or vocalist) but of course, be polite, give a shout out to George – our organiser for the night. 8:30pm onwards. But if you’re feeling chilled without them rhythm and blues vibe, go right up to SPACE to greet DJ Divine and his lovely REGGAE sets. 9pm onwards.

THURSDAY
It’s another SWING FLING @ Cafe with the crrrraaazzzyyyy Lindy Hop dancers from Jitterbugs. No, tis not a performance but a chance for you to join in this delightful fray. Never mind, if you can’t dance – you just have to ask Sing or Brian for a complimentary demo, make some friends and you can groove those feet along for the night. 8:30pm onwards

FRIDAY
Step into cafe this Friday with Greg Lyons’ Quartet on stage with some cool sounds. One of our resident jazz band and they be one of them best. You’d be wanting one of them martinis too…. any which way you like them. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

Head on to Space if you’re feeling some independent spirit because we have Closeapart and Indus Gendi in the house with their own brand of music. Two Bands. No Door Charge. Open your mind a little. 9pm onwards @ Space

SATURDAY
WOOT! Ayaschool is back – rested, rejuvenated and I’m sure some wild mixes up their sleeves. This time, DON’T sit down, but dance off instead from the good vibes coming through. The adjective – great – right before music is understood. Completely. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

For those who are craving for some exciting electronic sounds, COUP delivers with a wide array of EDM leaning towards the deep and edgy side of things. It’s a bit of everything with elements of deep house, minimal, progressive, trance, tech house, techno, drum and bass and dubstep. 9:30pm onwards @ Lounge.

Peace out, ya’all
