19th Nov:
Wednesday sees Groove Works performing at 9pm @ Cafe (1st Floor)

21st Nov:
Monster Trio struts or shall I say blast their music all through out Cafe (1st Floor) and infuse our diners with wicked sounding jazz

Kyoko returns for her bi-monthly belly dance spell @ Space (3rd Floor) to entice and seduce our guests with hip-amazing movements

22nd Nov:
Ayaschool brings along more surprises and hunks with talents as she jams with the some of the boys from Wicked Aura. Last week, a drop in visit from Bobby Singh upped their tempo and by the end of the night, butts were off the chairs for oodle of dance action. Set starts from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

Darren Moore and friends make their debut with Darren’s original composition @ Space (3rd Floor)

The night will feature two sets of music performed by the Darren Moore Jazz Quintet.
All compositions are written by Darren and features leading lights of the singapore jazz scene.  The music can be describe as modern jazz, with elements of electronica and experimental. Cover – SGD 15- what you get – some eclectic, mind blowing, new sounds.

Groove Works return on Wednesday with some improv and a few beloved jazz selection. Led by Greg Lyons, Groove Works comprises musicians from other genres who have just fallen in love with jazz or have harboured the secret desire to break free and experiment.

Set starts at 9pm @ Cafe (1st Floor)

Halloween Night sees us well-founded Greg’s Monster Trio with lovely jazz pieces, perfect for those not into any strenuous form of trick or treating, save for raising a mug of beer or two. Set starts at 9:30pm.

OR if you feel like pumping up your Halloween, DO go up to the 2nd Floor with Pushin’On.  This Fri, we feature DJ Naz from Merlions of Hip-Hop (Tuckshop). Naz is like the best friend’s sister you wish was yours; sweet, caring and with a cool hip-hop record collection. We also have long-time collaborator Eeshaun on ‘live’ VJ. For the first time you can get down with ‘live’ visual projections from the artist behind some of the art at Blu Jaz Café and the first Pushin’On t-shirt. You got to have it.

Aya is back! She graces us with her wild and crazy keyboard solos when the Wicked Boys take a breather in between… Aya + Wicked = sets you should not miss. It’s high energy, it IS fun and it is music to our ears. Set starts from 9:30pm onwards.

Omniform presented a great jazz set on Monday and for those who are new to us – Omniform comprises 10 Singapore residing jazz lovers who come together to play from passion, led by Greg Lyons. Sets are on Monday and they go from chill to far out so swing on by our way @ Blu Jaz Cafe if you need a pick-er up-per.

Greg takes his students through a journey of self discovery through music and we invite you to join us from 9pm onwards @ The Cafe.

SATURDAY - 11th October

AYASCHOOL returns for another brutal, kickin’ set on Saturday to bring you over the edge and then back to Mother Earth – anything is possible

Guests include Aidan, Budi, Hanafi and they are all members of Singapore’s own and one and only Batucada(Percussion) Group, WICKED AURA BATUCADA. Come down for some chilled Bossa Nova, spicy Samba and a little of everything else. The music is diverse – you can dance, you can sing along without knowing the lyrics, it has SAUDADE, a sentimentally longing feel which the word only exist in Brazil. Set starts at 9:30pm

Sawadeeka! If you’re in the mood for some eclectic mix, check out our Thai Band @ The Lounge (2nd Floor) Unpredictable and maybe just a little crazy, our Thai band seems to get the guests to sing along just fine. Set starts from 9pm

and a Happy Children’s day to all us all… Monday passed us by with yet another awesome set by Omniform, our 10 member jazz group, put together by Greg Lyons – fueled by. passion. And on Wednesday, we see a new group formed by passion again. Students attending Greg’s class put together compositions to showcase more Jazz from 9pm @ the Cafe on Level 1
This Thursday, LIla Drums take a break while most of their members ‘balik kampung’ for a visit towards friends and family. We wish them a good feast too!

And on Fridays, Greg’s Monster Trio woos us with more of his brand of jazz and isn’t it about the notes you can’t hear and the space in between? Sets commence from 9:30pm and yes, reservations are STILL recommended. Going up one floor to LOUNGE (2nd floor, for those whose brains hasn’t quite kicked into from the weekend) Good Times return with impressive sounds generated by

DJ KO FLOW
DJ SUBVERT

We clear the space for all those who would like to flash their moves…..

And on @ Space (3rd Floor) Kyoko returns for another belly dance night to entice all with some hip dropping motions…. Set starts at 930pm and yes, seats are fairly limited too but we welcome you to rally round the bar with some kick-a$$ drinks in hand :)

What can I say, it’s a night of mayhem again with Aya and her boys… the Wicked Boys.. talented peeps with unique and an eclectic mix…. They play. You dance. 9:30pm onwards @ The Cafe.

Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke – our awesome combination with Greg Lyons on Saxaphones on Fridays and Ayaschool on Saturdays and this week isn’t different with sweet sounds of jazz with Mr Lyons and wild jungle sounds from Aya.

Special Features in Sept:

Upcoming would be Lila Drums back for an encore this month on the 18th September @ Blu Jaz Cafe (1st Floor) from 8:30pm onwards. And resident belly dancer, Kyoko returns on the 19th Sept @ Blu Jaz Space from 8:30pm onwards. Our last Friday of the month sees Pushin’ On back at the consol at our Lounge to raise body temperatures by some degrees with their brand of funk soul and house.
