If you’re feeling like some ska and rocksteady, the origins of Reggae, head on up to Lounge where DJ Divine gives you some tunes to bob along too. 9pm onwards

Fibelis launches an EP. That’s right – we have an instrumental trio who creates new waves of funk, pop and jazz and walks the walk of creativity TONIGHT with their launch. Originally from LaSalle, they originally covered tunes like Room 335, L.O.V.E and Let’s Get It On…. catch them live tonight from 8pm @ Space onwards – NO COVER CHARGE! YAY!

All the way from France, we present to you acoustic night with David Lin – yes originally from Taiwan but hey, the boy has it down low in Paris – ze city of rrrrromance and is back in Singapore to woo the .. well, the audience with his cover versions. The Music Awareness Society is offering FREE music workshops from 12pm – 6pm @ Space. Organised by the Music Lab, they believe that music shouldn’t be deterred by moolah.. so this is an outreach program for those who are curious and strapped for cash. It’s a good thing, drop on by – no fees – but hey buy the nice teachers a drink, or two.
David Lin returns the week for some acoustic sets from 7pm before AYASCHOOL slides in with some funky tunes.. Expect crazy energy as always and of course, mind blowing music. 9:30pm onwars @ Cafe

It almost feels like we have autumn in Singapore and it makes al fresco dining a lot more reasonable… One of my favorite months in Singapore, this is the weekend we choose to celebrate with the first ever Trance Party @ Blu Jaz! So read on!
TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY
Grooveworks I and II entertain all with their very own brand of jazz with Tuesday on the 3rd Flr @ Space from 9pm onwards and Wednesday on the 1st Flr @ Cafe from 9pm onwards.

Music Transcends Boundaries – A SMU effort to raise funds for Operation Smile. 7pm – 10pm
Project Cleft is a not-for-profit student-initiated project, led by an independent team of Singapore Management University SMU) Undergraduates, which aims to bring awareness and attention to the plight of children with facial deformities, namely those who suffer from the Cleft Lip/Palates medical condition.
Our objectives are to promote student development through the Malay arts and raise publicity for our beneficiary, Operation Smile, through the sale and promotion of a new and exclusive Malay song album.

TONIGHT - MONDAY
THE ORIGINS. truly. originals. well, maybe some covers but you know, they rock. And what better way to spend the Monday after work hours, but to sip on some great martinis and relax into the sounds of professional music makers. 9pm onwards @ Cafe
TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY
Grooveworks does their practicas on Tues @ Space from 9pm onwards and woo us on the first floor (Cafe) from 9pm onwards on Wed. They be an eclectic mix, tutlelage under Greg Lyons and some of the more regular members are Keith who is a rockstar on bass and Freddi who rules the trombone in the classical arena, so hear them with their own Jazz interpretations.

DJ Divine plays our steadfast Reggae lover and will spin for all the lovelies up there residing @Lounge. Set commences from 9pm onwards, so don’t stand up this charming gentleman.

The Observatory released their fourth album to date, Dark Folke, recorded and mixed in Bergen, Norway with their longtime collaborator, Jorgen Traeen, well known producer of bands such as Ultralyd, Motorpsycho and Jaga Jazzist. Â With a change in musical direction, the math prog rock of The Observatory’s third album A Far Cry From Here has morphed into a fluid mystical beast called Dark Folke. Â Most songs have no drums on them. But there is rhythm. Only the type of rhythm associated with an invisible pulse. An implied rhythm…. catch them @ Blu Jaz Space from 7:30pm onwards
