The winds are a playin’ and Blu Jaz has been blessed with good artistes. Apart from enticing music, Blu Jaz is proud to have Ee Shaun worked on our cafe – featuring artwork our sensuously laden mural @ Space (3rd Flr) and his abstract art piece @ Lounge.

THURSDAY
Swing Fling @ Cafe – our ever growing group jumps up and down to the tempo of swing and Charleston. A Jitterbugs and other Lindy Hop lovers gather to dance their hearts out from 8:30pm onwards. Trial Class (FREE!) @ 7:30pm
It’s also MAGIC Thursday – presenting Danny – our close up illusionist. Having garnered several awards and after many guests television appearance in Singapore and Taiwan, Danny is gracing our care with his sleight of hands and some magic chocolate kisses! Chill out at any of our levels and he’ll come to you. 8pm onwards.
FRIDAY
Reggie Pereira takes centrestage @ Cafe this Friday with his own sound : Tribaltide presents Didjitaal Vibes, an organic tribalfunk electronica outfit, dishing out funky deep pocket grooves & rhythms. Combining old school ethnic instruments with a new electronica sound & vibe. Enticed from his abode, he brings friends, Muhd Noor on percussion, Bani on bass and Christine Sham on keys – abroad for a night of LURRRRVE. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe
Dustpan Recordings – our favorite HOUSE DJs return to Lounge with their cool sounds and hot melodies. Respected and appreciated by more than all our toes and fingers put together, we give it up for some wicked beats. 9pm onwards
Our lovely Thai community has gathered once again and will be brining in the band with the local flava – the best in Singapore, with some Thai Pop and Evergreens. Ladies and Gentlemen – it’ll be a blast. 9pm onwards @ Lounge
SATURDAY
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. In fact, we’ll say it many more times. WE LOVE AYASCHOOL! She is at home @ Cafe this Saturday to bring us another crazy ass night…. slightly (JUST A TAD) older and even better, Saturdays are a rock out with Aya and friends. 9:30pm onwards
And as promised, the FIRST TIME EVER - 7 year itch – from the people of Pop Trash, Close yer eyes, dilate yer ears and stomp yer feet to the likes of The Human League, Soft Cell, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Prince, Grace Jones and bags of quintessential and ground breaking tracks long forgotten. Back to the times where wild boys don’t cry and girls just wanted to have fun, a timeless night for all ages young and well, not so young but young at heart. A no holds-barred onslaught of the 80s sound, like you have NEVER heard before.
A month of break and we’re BACK. Hafla – pronounced – Haf – la, it’s Arabic for party and you’ve guessed it – we’re throwing a BELLY DANCE party. Featuring a variety of dancers from various schools – students and teachers alike, party starts from 7:30pm. So get ready for some Middle Eastern Dance music and join us on the dance floor. SPACE.

So we invite you to ease into the work week with a relaxed session or serveral sessions of good tasting cocktails and beer – al fresco @ Cafe. If alcohol doesn’t suit palatte, our lime smoothie is known to put the zing back into that sedentary life of yours.

9pm onwards @ Lounge – DJ Garuda, DJ Ritz, DJ Syafii and DJ Nad-trix walk the line up this Friday to the 2nd Floor under the Good Times Label.
“Good Times” is a unique event produced by BEDSTY MUSIC, where everybody is invited to let their guard down, shimmy on to good old school tunes, funky breaks, and boogie into the night as we up the tempo and beat.
“Good Times” is all for a night out with your best mates, filled with zany incidents and crazy antics. We invite you to rock up to a night where you are the master of the dance floor. There was something about last week where everyone just seemed to gravitate towards parties or maybe because the music is excellent!
While we are chillin’ throughout the week, we promise that the party vibes are turned to the max over the weekend.
27th March – Fri
Greg Lyon’s Quartet our resident band whips up a wicked mix for us this Friday. Darren Moore on drums, Casey Subramaniam on bass, Mel Sheum on organ (!) and, naturally, Greg Lyon on sax. Those shoes will not stop from a-tappin’ so shake off the week’s work blues and join us for a jumpin’ night out. Starts from 9:30pm @ Cafe.
13 Strong – The Pushin’On monthly rolls by with some massive guests. The Lion City Orchestra, who debuted last month with a new line-up, returns with 90 mins of rare covers and their new single, “You Ain’t Ready”. This is “live” funk and soul in Singapore, only at Pushin’On.
On the decks, residents Shellsuit and Chunk will hold it down. And we’ve invited a man who was one of the first to bring funk and soul to Singapore dancefloors. DJ NDC returns for one night only. Its hard to lock this man down, but if you keep on dancing, he’ll keep on pushin’.

Welcome to the year of the OX!
We are RE-opening after a long break on 2nd Feb (Monday) with Omniform taking stage @ Cafe (1st Flr) from 9pm. This 13 piece band come together from love of jazz with Greg Lyons’ composition.
And on the 4th Feb (Wed) we have a special – The Edmond Branson Jr, Tribute Jam Session 2009. Commencing from 8:30pm @ Blu Jaz Lounge (2nd Flr), artistes will gather together to jam and celebrate life with music. This date marks the 5th year of Edmond Branson Jr’s passing.

Pushin’On is 3 this month! SO come celebrate the anniversary of Pushin’On, Singapore’s longest running, independently-promoted funk night. They’re celebrating it big and early before Blu Jaz Cafe closes for the Lunar New Year. This night will feature DJs Shellsuit, Ko-Flow, Funk Bast*rd, Nazmatazz, Mister Magic, and MC Masterpiece on the soul mic.
It’s their 3rd Anniversary Disco ya’ll! So bring your good self, your dancing shoes and all your rhythm.

Omniform kickstarts December on their new schedule on Monday on the very 1st of December @ Cafe. For those who missed out, they’re back on the 5th Jan with some more great tunes – original compositions and arrangements by Mr Greg Lyons himself.
Grooveworks settles the mid week nicely with our jazz afcionados on Wed 3rd Dec @ Cafe (1st Flr) from 9pm onwards.
Monster Trio starts the weekend with a bang on Friday 5th Dec @ Cafe (1st Flr) from 9:30pm onwards. But if you fancy a different sort of party, join Kyoko, our belly dancer @ Space (3rd Flr) for her performance, starting from 9:30pm onwards.
Ayaschool finishes off the a weekend @ Blu Jaz with her wicked boys on percussion and Budi on vox on Saturday 6th Dec @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. But we’re giving a shoutout to all our Thai friends as Sawadee Ka is here again @ Lounge (2nd Flr) from 9pm onwards with homegrown Live Thai Music

Ayaschool brings along more surprises and hunks with talents as she jams with the some of the boys from Wicked Aura. Last week, a drop in visit from Bobby Singh upped their tempo and by the end of the night, butts were off the chairs for oodle of dance action. Set starts from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe
Darren Moore and friends make their debut with Darren’s original composition @ Space (3rd Floor)
The night will feature two sets of music performed by the Darren Moore Jazz Quintet.
All compositions are written by Darren and features leading lights of the singapore jazz scene. The music can be describe as modern jazz, with elements of electronica and experimental. Cover – SGD 15- what you get – some eclectic, mind blowing, new sounds.
