It’s been a very loud weekend with the cars in circles and as the party glamour dust settles, we invite you to chill out in comfortable surroundings and personable service. However come mid-week, Eddy revives jam sessions and host an electrifying session with music galore to boot. It’s WEDNESDAY from 9pm @ Cafe, so come for dinner and stay for entertainment.

On THURSDAY, it’s Poetry Slam Night and all you word lovers, take the creative liberty of the English language to showcase your talent. Rap it, sing it, dramatize it – just come. And there is plenty of room for them audience too. So head on up to SPACE - from 8pm onwards.

The party on FRIDAY is bound to be uplifting to say the least as Pushin’on returns for the usual end of the month party. But what is not on our regular menu is the debut of the new covers – turning soul to latin. The Mighty Mighty ‘live’, house band of Pushin’On, continues a timeless tradition of funk nights around the world such as Motherfunk and Breakin’ Bread and they hit the 3rd floor of Blu Jaz (SPACE) with 2 sets of funk, soul and R&B. DJ KFC, Shellsuit, Chunk, Dave Code and Gonzo rule LOUNGE (2nd for of Blu Jaz) with hip-hop, disco, nu-funk, latin, jazz, swing, boogie and rockabilly. 9:30pm onwards. But if you’re feeling mellow – hang out at Cafe where dreamy-velvety-voiced FENDI leads on vocals of Fuze Collective. 9:30pm onwards.

AYASCHOOL rocks out @ Cafe on SATURDAY, figuratively at least, since they bring you cool jazz, smooth souls, hot tempos – all from 9:30pm onwards. And you don’t need to be a kid to play on this day, CHROAM blow up their party all the way up to SPACE - where they present some groovy tunes for you to nod your head to before you rev it up and head down to LOUNGE - where they claim the airways with their mix of banging’ electro beats. Dance hard @ LOUNGE from 9:30pm

YES WE ARE OPEN!!!! Today for lunch and dinner @ Blu Jaz. However we open from 4pm tomorrow. We wish all our Muslim friends a happy Hari Raya Puassa! Eat well and enjoy!

Side note: Piedra Negra IS opened today but closed tomorrow.

And staring off mid-week (WEDNESDAY) is Jeremy Monteiro and his crew – this is the last installment of Jeremy’s brand of jazz @ Blu Jaz for a bit, so come on down and catch him, live! 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.

Simon returns with deep, sexy house the first THURSDAY of the month and he is going to provide some groovy right before the weekend hits. So come on up to LOUNGE and give your ears an aural pleasure. 9:30pm onwards.

Come FRIDAY - party with GOOD TIMES @ Lounge. It’s veteran hip-hop selector DJ DREM and breakbeat mainstay Joshua P on the decks. They’re joined by Kiat, head honcho of the mighty Syndicate collective and a pioneer of the local underground sound. They are also showcasing Orita Sinclair – a boutique design, new media and arts school. In gratitude, Good Times is proud to showcase a collection of Good Times posters designed by their students. (They’re lookin’ mighty dope!) As always, there’s no dress code to party with us and entry is absolutely free.

AYASCHOOL comes in on SATURDAY with a lot of sweet sumthing and a whole lot of spicy…. it’s music at its finest, Aya-style. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. If you are craving for a party with some electronic sounds – head over to Piedra Negra 2nd Flr for PASSION DJ’s mixes. 9:30pm onwards

So here is the low-down, bullet style, for this week.

Jeremy Monteiro and his crew joins us on WEDNESDAY (only in August!!!) @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. So if you would like to catch one of Singapore’s pillar jazz musician, come on down.

On THURSDAY, we host Rhythm with a Reason – a night of acoustic – spanning 3 different bands where they come together for a cause. 9pm onwards @ Space.

And we have Greg Lyons and mates, this time on a FRIDAY, @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. But for Soundscapes wtih 44 beatz where tech, house, a dash of trance fill the airways, head on up to Lounge. From 9:30pm onwards.

And for our regular, feel good, sounds great band – AYASCHOOL, plays this SATURDAY from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. It’s a jazz gig with a little them funk, soul and latin…. P!O!P! KISS! Indie Night @ space where Janson from 4 Imaginary boys, Redmund from Dylan Productions House and Collin from Fluid Mix Singapore will be deejaying the night away. From 9:30pm onwards

Hello peeps – HAPPY NATIONAL DAY and….

BLU JAZ and MUZIUM IS CLOSED TILL 10th AugustWEDNESDAY!!! So if you’re hankering for some good food, pop over to our sister cafe – PIEDRA NEGRA, down Haji Lane, junction to Beach Road.

And on WEDNESDAY - we are OPENED! YAY! Stand Up Singapore IS BACK - it’s SGD 10 for entry and there will be talents galore with Jonathan Atheron hosting the session. Time for some good (and bad) laughs. 8pm onwards @ Space.

CouCou…… it’s the 1st MONDAY of the month and we have OMNIFORM with us @ Cafe. Without a doubt, this would be THE band to hang out with on Monday. 9pm onwards – have a bite, put up your feet, grab a drink and enjoy this aural pleasure.

Come WEDNESDAY, it’s Jeremy Monteiro’s first gig with us – the month of August sees this respected jazz artistes and his crew, coaxing out them notes for us. 9pm onwards @ Cafe.

It’s Simon on decks again this THURSDAY @ Lounge with very deep, very sexy – house. 9:30pm onwards, head on up where the man does his magic to take you to a different plane – a gratifying cerebrum experience.

Ayaschool does a SWAP and they are ON this FRIDAY @ Blu Jaz Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. It’s a mad-capped night just cos, well, it’s Aya. And right on time to celebrate the new month, we have GOOD TIMES. Spinning favorite sounds with new mixes, the DJs give you tunes to bust out them moves. And to quote: Just. Do. It’s a Latin Affair with IRESON @ Cafe on SATURDAY. Cool Jazz and Hot Latin music is on the playlist with Alina on keys. Come on down and join the revelry from 9:30pm onwards.

It’s an AWESOME week cos we’re starting off with great music on MONDAY - as it is! Check out the Singapore Poly Jazz Band @ Cafe – playing yr jazz favorites with a fuller and bigger sound. 8:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And if you want something a little more intimate – head on up to SPACE where Melissa teams up with Christy on bass, Wen on drums and Joshua on keys. Cover is SGD 12 and SGD 30 gets you their CD along with entry. 8:30pm onwards

Eddie plays his final Revival Jam gig this WEDNESDAY before Mr Jeremy Monterio graces us in August. Eddie’s Revival Jam takes a short break so catch him and his crew for some real talent and music to your ears. 9pm onwards @ Cafe.

FunkiMunkees holds court this FRIDAY with great blues – the kind that just go straight to your soul. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Pushin’On takes their last Friday of the month and party on hard. It’s a PLEASE GIVE AS YOU PLEASE - to keep the funk and fun going. The Mighty Mighty plays live and DJs Shellsuit, Chunk, Gonzo and guest DJ Koflow keep us entertain in between. All vinyl set: DJ Shellsuit vs DJ Koflow: When their powers combine, these 2 have more than 25 years of tight DJ-ing and obsessive record digging. Join them at the 2nd floor of Blu Jaz on a cut-and-paste journey through soul, funk, hip-hop, disco and old school electro. CUE: The Music is the fifth installment of this urban music night. The CHROAM boys draw on their experience of the London club scene to serve up an eclectic mix of sounds from the 70′s through to the here and now. Rare grooves, Funk, UK garage, deep soulful house, Hip/Hop you’ll find it at all. CUE: The Music – it’s about the people and music so bring your groove, an open mind as we bring the house party to you. 9:30pm onwards

And Aya is back this SATURDAY with an elegant song bird: Ms Joanna Dong – crystal clear voice and charming personality, Ayaschool promises more than entertainment – it’s a concert, yo. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And it’s a debut for REWIND - a 90s hip hop/r&B night @ Lounge. EWIND’s Shophouse Party starts from 10pm to the sounds of Notorious BIG, Tupac, Mary J Blige, Blackstreet and much much more! And a big HELLO to the djembe enthusiast. Join Lila Drums for the THURSDAY Djembe Open Mic Jam! Bring your friends and family down to Bali Lane and enjoy a wild night of djembe mania! Bust out those favorite rhythms, or solos and breaks you’ve been practising on. 9pm onwards @ Space. We have

It’s the lovely Yvette Atienza on vox this FRIDAY with Jordan W on keys, Jase S on bass and Darryl E on drums. Jazz is on the menu with a dash of pop. 9:30pm @ Cafe. HEART of GLASS - DJs rule @ Lounge with some ambient as appetizer followed by a main course of indie music, taking you back to where it belongs. Expect loads of uncompromising beats & bleeps you don’t hear in a normal club… – it’s fine music pickin’ if you ask us. 8:30pm onwards.

Floods‘ a coming back with his crew as AYASCHOOL goes on break. It’s a wicked jam of jazz, funk and some cool improv. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe this SATURDAY. Head on up to LOUNGE with 44 Beatz for an oasis of tech, house if you’re feeling parched. The dosage is strong and steady and will keep on going from 9:30pm.

I love Mondays with a bang….a musical sort of bang it is. OMNIFORM performs TONIGHT @ Cafe with original composition by Greg Lyons from 8:30pm onwards. And if you need a little more intimacy, head on up to SPACE where Nic Jeffries from down under plays with musicians such as Aya Sekine. Singer and saxaphonist’s debut album. SGD 5 cover for this budding solo artiste.

Come WEDNESDAY, we have the Matrix jam session, so you’re most likely gonna be spoiled for choice with the variety of musicians who drop by! George’s Matrix Jam is happening @ Lounge from 9pm onwards. Join us for some grrrrreeeaaat music!

it’s gonna be sexy THURSDAY cos Simon is back with some deep house grooves at Lounge from 9:30pm onwards. And if you’d like to catch some tunes in the way of Lenny Kravitz, Police, Maroon5 and that sort, PHAT makes their appearance with covers @ Space from 8;30pm onwards.

It’s a Latin Affair this FRIDAY @ Cafe and it’s muy cliente! We have the boys on stage with us whipping up some great tunes! The Line Up: Carlos, Enriquez, Hiro and Pablo. 9:30pm onwards.

And Aya makes her second appearance this week with AYASCHOOL on SATURDAY – a no holds bar of creative energy and passion – the delivery is smooth and hot at the same time.
