SATURDAY - Ayaschool returns! YAY! It’s “DIRTY”, featuring Mathilda D’Silva(dirty vocal), Casey Subramaniam(dirty bass), Erik Hargrove(dirty drums) and of course, Aya (dirty keys). 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe with all the right notes. Head on up to LOUNGE if you want to TURN UP THE HEAT and get your feet dancing to some great music – supported by Masterpiece. Come SATURDAY, to usher in the year of the DRAGON, Ayaschool hits a special note with their 6pc Fusion group featuring Fabian Lim(sax), Sebastian Ho(gt), Brandon Wong (bass), Mohamed Noor(dr), Dan Wong(trumpet) and of course, the lovely Aya Sekine (keys)!!! The good stuff from Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Brecker Brothers, Steps Ahead and some originals including some CNY inspired music will be hitting the airwaves. And we present CHROAM - Cue: THE MUSIC - a night of mayhem notes spanning LOUNGE and SPACE - firing a range of tunes from House, Tech, Progressive Trance, Dub-Step, Minimalist – it’s gonna be good. TUESDAY: It’s an exciting time for us as we welcome THE BURTON’s, all the way from New Zealand, to Blu Jaz LOUNGE - they’ll be coming in with some big band sounds – so head on up from 8pm onwards

WEDNESDAY: It’s EDDY’s Jam Session @ Cafe – a promised fulfilled – of great music and vibes. Have a pint or two while you soak it all in. Head on up to LOUNGE from 8pm onwards for the new session of BLINK BL_NK. It’s an evening of talks and discussion for a mere $5 donation at the door. There be pirates.
At this point – we want to give a shout out to ELLEN AND UDI who met @ Space some time back, got hitched and will be doing their vows at the place where they first set eyes on each other. CONGRATULATIONS!

THURSDAY: Under the Velvet Sky visits at SPACE with avant-garde music – it’s a journey of musical improvisation, aspired by a diverse influence of music from Mozart to contemporary sounds. UTVS have been actively performing live in Singapore. For their first live performance, they were chosen to close the Singapore Arts Festival 2009 open mic session at City Hall. In 2010, UTVS performed in 2 music and arts festivals in Indonesia.

FRIDAY: It’s back to smooth and sexy with FENDI and crew @ CAFE. From 9:30pm onwards, the band will bring you sweet sounds which is. wait for it. music for your soul. And if you’ve been a fan of MUGIC, the good news is that it’s a sweet beginning for us and them while we host this fantastic team of music-makers @ LOUNGE from 9:30pm onwards
And over at sister outlet: PIEDRA NEGRA - we’re throwing a MEXICAN party – LIME - it’s a night of beer promos and hot, hot music… salsa based with touches of reggae and electro.

SATURDAY: It’s AYASCHOOL with MORE talented musicians – Beverly Morata on vox, Willy Garthright on bass, Erick Hargrove on drums and Aya Sekine on keys. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe and there is nothing left to do but allow yourselves to be immerse in nothing short of awesome. It’s a short work week and certainly a great fun week…. with… STAND UP FOR SINGAPORE on WEDNESDAY - a night of aspiring comedians. Dance away in the Milkyway – featuring DJ FOXXXY, DJ STARLITE, DJ HARDBREAKER - to whip up your weekend appetites through different genres of music, churning out their best anthems that ravaged dancefloors. We’ve all been hearing about water… Floods in the Land of Smiles – Thailand – our neighbor. Reports have shown that many are stranded and left without the minimum staples. I just got back from Bangkok last week and you could see signs of them preparing for floods everywhere. The outskirts were horribly hit and also left the city reduced of some essentials – like drinking water. Our Thai friends in Singapore and Blu Jaz are getting together this TUESDAY to raise some money for the victims. Though a tragedy, the optimistic outlooks of our Thai friends are contagious and a live band be-a-playing @ Lounge from 8:30pm onwards. For every Singha beer you buy, Blu Jaz donates the whole proceed of SGD 10/bottle to the fund. So we hope you will join us for meaningful night.

Come THURSDAY - The Blackberries are debuting @ Blu Jaz Space! Band starts playing at 9pm. For those that haven’t seen them live before, The Blackberries are a collection of folk from all corners, hailing from the UK, Shanghai and South Africa, with a healthy dose of Kiwi thrown in for good measure. They’ll be playing a wide assortment of tunes from the 80′s, 90′s and naughties, a veritable mix-tape of slightly left-of-centre classics we’re sure you’ll love, together with a couple of their own original tunes. See you there!

It’s 3 heavy hitters with us on FRIDAY @ Cafe. Presenting… Aya on keys, Darren on drums and Greg on sax! It’s gonna be a killer night of sweet music and acid notes. 9:30pm onwards. Come rain or shine, Pushin’On is back @ Blu Jaz Lounge AND Space with the mother of all parties. Dean Chew, otherwise known as Funk Bast*rd of Cosa Nostra along with Unconventional Science return to Blu Jaz with disco, boogie, nu-funk and some diverse selection of Asian funk records! DJ JNR debuts with Pushin’On with Deep House, Detroit Techno, Philly Soul and early house. Of course, we wouldn’t be complete without the Mighty Mighty! So join us for a night of mayhem – cover – give as you please and the more you give, the more you’ll help the music go a long way!

Aya makes a double billing this weekend and on SATURDAY, she is captain with AYASCHOOl with a tres sexy line-up. We have Munir on bass, Kaye on sax and the lovely Dawn Ho on vox. 9:30pm onwards.
And if you’re looking for a Halloween Party – come on over to Angels and Demons presented by The Dig vs Heart of Glass. Spanning 2 floors of Blu Jaz we have the heavenly indie beauties upstairs (level 3) and filthy dub-tech demons downstairs (level 2) where they belong. It’s gonna be a night of dancing to prepare you for future daze. Come expect the unexpected & lose yourself to the wayward beat!

Showers of a new day – And it feels earlier than it really is – so I’d suggest a nice cuppa to jump start your day, and if you’re in the neighborhood, allow Jackson (our Chef) to whip up our lunch specials for you.

Mid-week will see 2 sorts of ‘open mic night’ – one will hit our funny bone with Talk Cock Comedy and in Mr Jonathan’s words: Fostering the comedy stars of the future..Come and see some brilliant performers… and some ‘one day will be brilliant’ performers… and some ‘what the blipblip were you thinking?’ performers… $10 entry includes first drink and 1-4-1 house pours for $12 all night. 8pm onwards @ Space on WEDNESDAY. The other is Eddie’s Revival Jam where musicians come together to play and give you brilliant performances. 9:30pm onwards @ Wednesday @ Cafe

Come FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: it’s MUY Caliente – means: very hot stuff with a Dance Demonstration and workshop by Soloist Dancer and Producer & Director of Cuba Rico (Cuban Dance Company), Michel Cruz. The time to shake them bootie are 8pm, 9pm & 10:15pm and IRESON LATIN BAND gonna make you shake it from 9.30pm till late: A 5 piece band with a salsa and son traditional repertoire, latin dance music with Carlos Sendros on vocals, Pablo Calzado on drums, Enrriquez Castillo on guitar, Mario Lopez on bass and Alina Ramirez on piano.

And on FRIDAY, we’ll also be featuring DJ INCOMA @ Lounge from 9:30pm onwards: INCOMA aka Saf is in the 6th year of his career as a DJ. A seasoned spinner who started his passion 6 years ago in the US, his music is about something of the 90s and a whiff of something current. Dancing guaranteed.

The party doesn’t just stop because on SATURDAY, we have Diggin Deep – great electro sounds that will have you grooving away @ LOUNGE from 9:30pm onwards and if you head on up to SPACE, Edwin from E-Trax and DJs from Passion will transcend genres, mashing and dispensing a fluid night of a party unleashing modern and futuristic electrones from mellow beats to crunchy basslines, vice versa and in between. YES WE ARE OPEN!!!! Today for lunch and dinner @ Blu Jaz. However we open from 4pm tomorrow. We wish all our Muslim friends a happy Hari Raya Puassa! Eat well and enjoy!

Side note: Piedra Negra IS opened today but closed tomorrow.

And staring off mid-week (WEDNESDAY) is Jeremy Monteiro and his crew – this is the last installment of Jeremy’s brand of jazz @ Blu Jaz for a bit, so come on down and catch him, live! 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.

Simon returns with deep, sexy house the first THURSDAY of the month and he is going to provide some groovy right before the weekend hits. So come on up to LOUNGE and give your ears an aural pleasure. 9:30pm onwards.

Come FRIDAY - party with GOOD TIMES @ Lounge. It’s veteran hip-hop selector DJ DREM and breakbeat mainstay Joshua P on the decks. They’re joined by Kiat, head honcho of the mighty Syndicate collective and a pioneer of the local underground sound. They are also showcasing Orita Sinclair – a boutique design, new media and arts school. In gratitude, Good Times is proud to showcase a collection of Good Times posters designed by their students. (They’re lookin’ mighty dope!) As always, there’s no dress code to party with us and entry is absolutely free.

Jeremy Monteiro and his crew joins us on WEDNESDAY (only in August!!!) @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. So if you would like to catch one of Singapore’s pillar jazz musician, come on down.

On THURSDAY, we host Rhythm with a Reason – a night of acoustic – spanning 3 different bands where they come together for a cause. 9pm onwards @ Space.

And we have Greg Lyons and mates, this time on a FRIDAY, @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. But for Soundscapes wtih 44 beatz where tech, house, a dash of trance fill the airways, head on up to Lounge. From 9:30pm onwards.

And for our regular, feel good, sounds great band – AYASCHOOL, plays this SATURDAY from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. It’s a jazz gig with a little them funk, soul and latin…. P!O!P! KISS! Indie Night @ space where Janson from 4 Imaginary boys, Redmund from Dylan Productions House and Collin from Fluid Mix Singapore will be deejaying the night away. From 9:30pm onwards

CouCou…… it’s the 1st MONDAY of the month and we have OMNIFORM with us @ Cafe. Without a doubt, this would be THE band to hang out with on Monday. 9pm onwards – have a bite, put up your feet, grab a drink and enjoy this aural pleasure.

Come WEDNESDAY, it’s Jeremy Monteiro’s first gig with us – the month of August sees this respected jazz artistes and his crew, coaxing out them notes for us. 9pm onwards @ Cafe.

It’s Simon on decks again this THURSDAY @ Lounge with very deep, very sexy – house. 9:30pm onwards, head on up where the man does his magic to take you to a different plane – a gratifying cerebrum experience.

Ayaschool does a SWAP and they are ON this FRIDAY @ Blu Jaz Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. It’s a mad-capped night just cos, well, it’s Aya. And right on time to celebrate the new month, we have GOOD TIMES. Spinning favorite sounds with new mixes, the DJs give you tunes to bust out them moves. And to quote: Just. Do.
