FRIDAY - Fendi’s FUZE COLLECTIVE slides straight in to bring you a night of SMOOOOTH - like mercury. Be seduced. Funk n Soul. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe

SATURDAY - Ayaschool returns! YAY! It’s “DIRTY”, featuring Mathilda D’Silva(dirty vocal), Casey Subramaniam(dirty bass), Erik Hargrove(dirty drums) and of course, Aya (dirty keys). 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe with all the right notes. Head on up to LOUNGE if you want to TURN UP THE HEAT and get your feet dancing to some great music – supported by Masterpiece. Things are a heating up especially with Chinese New Year round the corner. We’re going to take a break from the 23rd Jan – 26th Jan inclusive – re-opening on the 27th Jan (FRIDAY) but meanwhile for this week…

TUESDAY: It’s an exciting time for us as we welcome THE BURTON’s, all the way from New Zealand, to Blu Jaz LOUNGE - they’ll be coming in with some big band sounds – so head on up from 8pm onwards

WEDNESDAY: It’s EDDY’s Jam Session @ Cafe – a promised fulfilled – of great music and vibes. Have a pint or two while you soak it all in. Head on up to LOUNGE from 8pm onwards for the new session of BLINK BL_NK. It’s an evening of talks and discussion for a mere $5 donation at the door. There be pirates.
At this point – we want to give a shout out to ELLEN AND UDI who met @ Space some time back, got hitched and will be doing their vows at the place where they first set eyes on each other. CONGRATULATIONS!

THURSDAY: Under the Velvet Sky visits at SPACE with avant-garde music – it’s a journey of musical improvisation, aspired by a diverse influence of music from Mozart to contemporary sounds. UTVS have been actively performing live in Singapore. For their first live performance, they were chosen to close the Singapore Arts Festival 2009 open mic session at City Hall. In 2010, UTVS performed in 2 music and arts festivals in Indonesia.

FRIDAY: It’s back to smooth and sexy with FENDI and crew @ CAFE. From 9:30pm onwards, the band will bring you sweet sounds which is. wait for it. music for your soul. And if you’ve been a fan of MUGIC, the good news is that it’s a sweet beginning for us and them while we host this fantastic team of music-makers @ LOUNGE from 9:30pm onwards
And over at sister outlet: PIEDRA NEGRA - we’re throwing a MEXICAN party – LIME - it’s a night of beer promos and hot, hot music… salsa based with touches of reggae and electro.

SATURDAY: It’s AYASCHOOL with MORE talented musicians – Beverly Morata on vox, Willy Garthright on bass, Erick Hargrove on drums and Aya Sekine on keys. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe and there is nothing left to do but allow yourselves to be immerse in nothing short of awesome. Come Wednesday, it’s Eddy’s Jam Session where he invites different musicians to jam with him. Fresh faces and new sounds every week, this night promises to rock out – jazz style, naturally. 9pm onwards @ Cafe. If you’re hankering to let your exhibitionistic self out to the general public, give STANDUP SINGAPORE a try. A comedy, open mic night up at SPACE. And before you know it, FRIDAY comes around and we present a smorgasbord of music, commencing with ANNE WEERAPASS and friends for a soulful night. A dynamic voice complimented by talented playing, keys interlacing with beats – 9:30pm onwards – pure magic. Head on up to LOUNGE if you fancy a SOULSTRUT night – DJs spin out some electro fused with good ole fashion funk and soul. 9:30pm onwards

AYASCHOOL presents some new faces Junji Delfino from KL on vox, Christy Smith on bass, Soh Wen Ming on drums and, of course, Aya on keys. Some crooning, some acid sounds and some smooth tunes to carry you over to Sunday with a smile on your face. 9:30pm onwards. If you love minimal, then you should go on up to LOUNGE OR SPACE for “I luv Minimal” with a slew of happy fingered DJs.

Welcome to 2012 – we hope you have enjoyed your break for as long as we have, ours!

It’s regular favorites with Matrix Jam @ Lounge on WEDNESDAY where you can hear great music. A veritable jam session where musicians just drop by to participate, tap their feet or enjoy the relaxed vibe of the evening. 9pm onwards.

We have a special band this FRIDAY gracing our stage: INDIGO, featuring Dawn on vox, Munir on bass, Wan ABang on drums and Aya on keys! 9:30pm onwards – a lethal combination of massive talents and good looks all around.
If it’s a party that you are still hankering after, GOOD TIMES returns! An intro for the NOOBS: the party is an unique event produced by BEDSTY PARTIES, where everybody is invited to let loose, and be treated to good old school tunes, funky breaks, and boogie into the night as we up the tempo and beat. Every month our favourite DJs will be dropping a quality mix of Breaks, Hip-Hop, Drum & Bass, Dubstep and everything in between. As always, entry is FREE, drinks are cheap and clothing is optional*. You bring the good vibes and we’ll settle the rest.

Come SATURDAY - AYASCHOOL mixed a rare combination to bring you some kick-a$$ tunes: Kerong on organ (a real treat!) , Wen Ming on drums and of course Aya on keys. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. If you feel the need to be soothed and reflect, head on up to LOUNGE with Noel Cabangon‘s acoustic performance with support from bands: KARRA and QUIVER - SGD 15 for entry and performance starts at 7pm.

On TUESDAY, the French Duo Huguette & Toufik (Hugo et Sophie) from France, two crazy cupcakes starting their world tour with music!

Guitar, ukulele and harmonica… rhythm, folk and reggae covers to make you shake your bootie and chill. A groovy duet taking over LOUNGE (2nd floor) with an accoustic set to celebrate life. Musical journey of reflection and quiet joy. 9pm onwards. And it’s “gratuit” (complimentary to all music seekers)

We take things up a notch on WEDNESDAY with Eddy’s Jam Session @ Cafe. A band whose passion for jazz meshed together with the love of performing – sharing this cool genre with you. Bring self. 9pm onwards.

Are you born in the 60s, the 70s? Do you reminisce the good o’days watching old Hong Kong slapstick or heart wrenching Gangster Movies like Young & Dangerous and Fight Back to School? Do Stephan Chow, Andy Lau, Chow Yun Fatt, Sandra Ng, Ng Meng Tat come easily to mind? Curly and Sam bring you a movie screening DOWN MEMORY LANE @ LOUNGE on THURSDAY - from 8pm onwards.

The gorgeous and wonderful Anne Weerapass will grace us with her enchanting voice this FRIDAY @ Cafe. So come on by and catch the repertoire of cool sounds and sizzling vocals from 9:30pm onwards.

E-TracX DJ School celebrates their 9th Anniversary and will be blowing your ears and minds off @ Lounge and Space. With a line up of more than 15 DJs, covering a wide range of genres from Hip Hop, Funk & Soul and Reggae to Electronica, you’re going to find something to set you dancing and carry on till wee hours of the night. OMNIFORM plays tonight! It’s a cool MONDAY evening when 11 talented musicians gather together to send out some great vibes of original music. 9pm @ Cafe

Come TUESDAY, we invite you to join INSIGHT up @ Space from 8:30pm onwards for an unique sonic experience. A young jazz guitarist, eager to expand his musical horizon, met a symphonic metal singer with a burning passion for music and formed an acoustic duo that aims to push the boundary of typical ‘acoustic’ music. But this Tuesday, they are backed by a 4-strong band, performing arrangements and originals by guitarist Amos Tadete!

And on WEDNESDAY – it’s EDDY’s JAM SESSION @ Cafe – a night of experimental jazz sounds for the discerning ear. 9pm onwards.

If you’re looking for a different sort of  Wednesday night, come on down to blink bl_nk. It’s a great night of speakers, music, and good old fashioned socializing. It’s a classic blinkBL-NK grab bag this month, so please come down and enjoy the variety. Because everyone loves a good laugh, we have MARK ZHANG - our stand up comedian for the week. Mark Zhang makes a special appearance at Blu Jaz LOUNGE on THURSDAY. Zhang has carved a name for himself as a leading Asian American comedian. He has performed at venues worldwide, and was a finalist in the San Francisco “Walk the Plank” Comedy Competition and at the Northern California Improv Comedy Competition. He has also appeared on Comedy Time TV and Last Comic Standing on NBC. 9pm onwards.
And if it’s music you’re craving for, head on up to SPACE. JEREMY TORDJMAN GROUP brings you great music. In Singapore, featuring: BARRY LIKUMAHUWA (Top bass player from Indonesia),ERIK HARGROVE from USA (ex-drummer of James Brown, Bootsy Collins & more), the well known top artist from Singapore JEREMY MONTEIRO on Keyboard, JEREMY TORDJMAN on Guitar. If you need to feel some CARNIVALE energy this weekend, our sister outlet – Piedra Negra – is throwing a party on SATURDAYBRAZILIAN style – RITMO DE BRASIL. Watch a spectacular display of Capoeira feats and acrobatics by international Capoeira artists from Brazil, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Philipines and Malaysia. Be intrigued by “Maculele”, an Afro-Brazilian tribal dance derived from traditional Brazilian folklore. Be part of the first Brazilian Forro party in Singapore.
