OMNIFORM plays tonight! It’s a cool MONDAY evening when 11 talented musicians gather together to send out some great vibes of original music. 9pm @ Cafe
Come TUESDAY, we invite you to join INSIGHT up @ Space from 8:30pm onwards for an unique sonic experience. A young jazz guitarist, eager to expand his musical horizon, met a symphonic metal singer with a burning passion for music and formed an acoustic duo that aims to push the boundary of typical ‘acoustic’ music. But this Tuesday, they are backed by a 4-strong band, performing arrangements and originals by guitarist Amos Tadete!
And on WEDNESDAY – it’s EDDY’s JAM SESSION @ Cafe – a night of experimental jazz sounds for the discerning ear. 9pm onwards.
If youâre looking for a different sort of Wednesday night, come on down to blink bl_nk. Itâs a great night of speakers, music, and good old fashioned socializing. Itâs a classic blinkBL-NK grab bag this month, so please come down and enjoy the variety. And remember, do come early so you have time to grab a good seat and nosh on some tasty Blu Jaz eats before the fun begins. Donation of $5 to support blinkBL_NK is encouraged. 7:30pm onwards @ Space
Because everyone loves a good laugh, we have MARK ZHANG - our stand up comedian for the week. Mark Zhang makes a special appearance at Blu Jaz LOUNGE on THURSDAY. Zhang has carved a name for himself as a leading Asian American comedian. He has performed at venues worldwide, and was a finalist in the San Francisco “Walk the Plank” Comedy Competition and at the Northern California Improv Comedy Competition. He has also appeared on Comedy Time TV and Last Comic Standing on NBC. 9pm onwards.
And if it’s music you’re craving for, head on up to SPACE. JEREMY TORDJMAN GROUP brings you great music. In Singapore, featuring: BARRY LIKUMAHUWA (Top bass player from Indonesia),ERIK HARGROVE from USA (ex-drummer of James Brown, Bootsy Collins & more), the well known top artist from Singapore JEREMY MONTEIRO on Keyboard, JEREMY TORDJMAN on Guitar. Blue Monks make their appearance at @ Cafe this FRIDAY. Bani, bassist, and his gang are together to give out some soul and funk with dabble of jazz. 9:30pm onwards.
INCOMA encompasses a group of young DJs who will be playing their hearts out @ LOUNGE. Eclectic is the music but friendlier to the masses – they throw in some 80′s tunes and mash ups. 9:30pm onwards
SATURDAY sees AYASCHOOL as our headliner @ Cafe. 9:30pm onwards for 3 great sets of mind-blowing music. Aya on keys, Darryl Ervin on drums and Christy Smith on bass.
If you need to feel some CARNIVALE energy this weekend, our sister outlet – Piedra Negra – is throwing a party on SATURDAY – BRAZILIAN style – RITMO DE BRASIL. Watch a spectacular display of Capoeira feats and acrobatics by international Capoeira artists from Brazil, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Philipines and Malaysia. Be intrigued by “Maculele”, an Afro-Brazilian tribal dance derived from traditional Brazilian folklore. Be part of the first Brazilian Forro party in Singapore. Sensual Sambistas accompanied by an authentic Batucada band to get you on your feet and dancing to the rousing rhythms of Brazil. Groove on with our DJ spinning mesh-ups of Brazilian music, Samba de Roda and more! 9pm onwards

It’s a short work week and certainly a great fun week…. with… STAND UP FOR SINGAPORE on WEDNESDAY - a night of aspiring comedians. Head right on up to SPACE from 8:30pm onwards – cover is SGD 15 to help the event go a long way. And if you are craving a jam, it’s EDDY’s JAM SESSION @ Cafe from 9pm onwards – great music, good food – what are you waiting for?
Kerong, our lovely keyboardist, is back with friends to create music mayhem this THURSDAY @ SPACE. Cover is a mere SGD 15 and all go to the artistes. 8.30pm onwards for notes afloat.
Come FRIDAY, MIG rules Cafe with snazzy jazz – MIG being Muhd Noor, Casey S and Leo – the smooth, sexy, dark sounds from this trio. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Dance away in the Milkyway – featuring DJ FOXXXY, DJ STARLITE, DJ HARDBREAKER - to whip up your weekend appetites through different genres of music, churning out their best anthems that ravaged dancefloors. And our SATURDAY needs no introduction with AYASCHOOL serving up hits of jazz, soul and funk. A promising night of pushing music boundaries, inspired by popular favorites. We’ve all been hearing about water… Floods in the Land of Smiles – Thailand – our neighbor. Reports have shown that many are stranded and left without the minimum staples. I just got back from Bangkok last week and you could see signs of them preparing for floods everywhere. The outskirts were horribly hit and also left the city reduced of some essentials – like drinking water. Our Thai friends in Singapore and Blu Jaz are getting together this TUESDAY to raise some money for the victims. Though a tragedy, the optimistic outlooks of our Thai friends are contagious and a live band be-a-playing @ Lounge from 8:30pm onwards. For every Singha beer you buy, Blu Jaz donates the whole proceed of SGD 10/bottle to the fund. So we hope you will join us for meaningful night.
Come THURSDAY - The Blackberries are debuting @ Blu Jaz Space! Band starts playing at 9pm. For those that haven’t seen them live before, The Blackberries are a collection of folk from all corners, hailing from the UK, Shanghai and South Africa, with a healthy dose of Kiwi thrown in for good measure. They’ll be playing a wide assortment of tunes from the 80′s, 90′s and naughties, a veritable mix-tape of slightly left-of-centre classics we’re sure you’ll love, together with a couple of their own original tunes. See you there!
It’s 3 heavy hitters with us on FRIDAY @ Cafe. Presenting… Aya on keys, Darren on drums and Greg on sax! It’s gonna be a killer night of sweet music and acid notes. 9:30pm onwards. Come rain or shine, Pushin’On is back @ Blu Jaz Lounge AND Space with the mother of all parties. Dean Chew, otherwise known as Funk Bast*rd of Cosa Nostra along with Unconventional Science return to Blu Jaz with disco, boogie, nu-funk and some diverse selection of Asian funk records! DJ JNR debuts with Pushin’On with Deep House, Detroit Techno, Philly Soul and early house. Of course, we wouldn’t be complete without the Mighty Mighty! So join us for a night of mayhem – cover – give as you please and the more you give, the more you’ll help the music go a long way!
Aya makes a double billing this weekend and on SATURDAY, she is captain with AYASCHOOl with a tres sexy line-up. We have Munir on bass, Kaye on sax and the lovely Dawn Ho on vox. 9:30pm onwards.

Spanning 2 floors of Blu Jaz we have the heavenly indie beauties upstairs (level 3) and filthy dub-tech demons downstairs (level 2) where they belong. Join Eddy’s Jam Session with fantastic music to boot @ Cafe from 9pm onwards. OR head on up to SPACE for Talk Cock Comedy with Jonathan A hosting. It’s open-mic and whether you would like to be slinking it in the back lapping it all up or up in the limelight, giving your alternate ego a free-from-jail pass, it’s up to you. SGD 10 as cover and it includes a drink!
FRIDAY sees our dreamy crooner, FENDI and his friends, waxing lyrical @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. Stay on for all 3 sets and we guarantee that your night will send you pumping onto the dance floor! We might just turn on the heat @ Lounge with some sizzling out DJ sets – Electro, house, funk would be the name of the game.
We end the week with a bang with AYASCHOOL on SATURDAY from 9:30pm onwards. A night of intellectual sounds with Ms Aya – CrazyFingers – Sekine on keys to set the theme of jazzy notes @ Cafe. If you need to dance to a different beat, REWIND R&B plays at Lounge. As the music-makers of the night say: This is the ONLY party with real R&B. If you danced to K-Ci & JoJo during high school dance parties and made/received mix tapes (remember…when you had to press play and record at the same time) with Boyz II Men, Tupac, Notorious BIG, etc on them, you’ll definitely want to come to this! SGD 10 cover @ door. For something a little more low key, a piano recital takes place @ Space from 6pm onwards – with various selection from classics to contemporary, the students give their take. SGD 5 at the door.

Well – we have some talented musicians from our neighbours: Srey Channthy and Julien Poulson aka the Monkey & the Mermaid, vocals and guitar for THE CAMBODIAN SPACE PROJECT are stopping in Singapore for one night only. They will be playing an acoustic set from The Cambodian Space Project ALBUM at BluJaz Space – from 8pm onwards. What some people say about them:

Wicked Aura is back at Blu Jaz this FRIDAY! This time to raise funds for their NEXT album: Voodoo. It’s a going to be fun, it’s a going to be rocking, it’s a going to be WICKED. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. If it’s a different sort of party you’re craving for, GOOD TIMES returns on the 1st Friday of the month to present with DJ Krumbs, Intrigue and Race* on the decks. Expect the usual collision of sounds – from Hip-Hop to Funk to Dubstep and back – set against the cosiest, most laidback joint in Singapore. It’s 2 Floors of fun, yo.
SATURDAY sees Ayaschool back at Cafe. From 9:30pm onwards, this lovely lady will give a kill keyboard set along with some friends to croon and blast out those jazz tunes. Infused with some soul, funk and loads of talent, the music is devine. If your groove leans towards the islands – REGGAE is the name of the game. Lounge and Space give you DJs with the Jamaican flava. 9:30pm onwards.

It’s been a very loud weekend with the cars in circles and as the party glamour dust settles, we invite you to chill out in comfortable surroundings and personable service. However come mid-week, Eddy revives jam sessions and host an electrifying session with music galore to boot. It’s WEDNESDAY from 9pm @ Cafe, so come for dinner and stay for entertainment.
On THURSDAY, it’s Poetry Slam Night and all you word lovers, take the creative liberty of the English language to showcase your talent. Rap it, sing it, dramatize it – just come. And there is plenty of room for them audience too. So head on up to SPACE - from 8pm onwards.
The party on FRIDAY is bound to be uplifting to say the least as Pushin’on returns for the usual end of the month party. But what is not on our regular menu is the debut of the new covers – turning soul to latin. The Mighty Mighty ‘live’, house band of PushinâOn, continues a timeless tradition of funk nights around the world such as Motherfunk and Breakin’ Bread and they hit the 3rd floor of Blu Jaz (SPACE) with 2 sets of funk, soul and R&B. DJ KFC, Shellsuit, Chunk, Dave Code and Gonzo rule LOUNGE (2nd for of Blu Jaz) with hip-hop, disco, nu-funk, latin, jazz, swing, boogie and rockabilly. 9:30pm onwards. But if you’re feeling mellow – hang out at Cafe where dreamy-velvety-voiced FENDI leads on vocals of Fuze Collective. 9:30pm onwards.
AYASCHOOL rocks out @ Cafe on SATURDAY, figuratively at least, since they bring you cool jazz, smooth souls, hot tempos – all from 9:30pm onwards. And you don’t need to be a kid to play on this day, CHROAM blow up their party all the way up to SPACE - where they present some groovy tunes for you to nod your head to before you rev it up and head down to LOUNGE - where they claim the airways with their mix of banging’ electro beats. Come FRIDAY - party with GOOD TIMES @ Lounge. It’s veteran hip-hop selector DJ DREM and breakbeat mainstay Joshua P on the decks. They’re joined by Kiat, head honcho of the mighty Syndicate collective and a pioneer of the local underground sound. They are also showcasing Orita Sinclair – a boutique design, new media and arts school. In gratitude, Good Times is proud to showcase a collection of Good Times posters designed by their students. (They’re lookin’ mighty dope!) As always, there’s no dress code to party with us and entry is absolutely free.

So here is the low-down, bullet style, for this week.
Jeremy Monteiro and his crew joins us on WEDNESDAY (only in August!!!) @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. So if you would like to catch one of Singapore’s pillar jazz musician, come on down.
On THURSDAY, we host Rhythm with a Reason – a night of acoustic – spanning 3 different bands where they come together for a cause. 9pm onwards @ Space.
And we have Greg Lyons and mates, this time on a FRIDAY, @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. But for Soundscapes wtih 44 beatz where tech, house, a dash of trance fill the airways, head on up to Lounge. From 9:30pm onwards.
And for our regular, feel good, sounds great band – AYASCHOOL, plays this SATURDAY from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. It’s a jazz gig with a little them funk, soul and latin…. P!O!P! KISS! Indie Night @ space where Janson from 4 Imaginary boys, Redmund from Dylan Productions House and Collin from Fluid Mix Singapore will be deejaying the night away. From 9:30pm onwards
