Come Wednesday, it’s Eddy’s Jam Session where he invites different musicians to jam with him. Fresh faces and new sounds every week, this night promises to rock out – jazz style, naturally. 9pm onwards @ Cafe. If you’re hankering to let your exhibitionistic self out to the general public, give STANDUP SINGAPORE a try. A comedy, open mic night up at SPACE. Entry is SGD 15 to support struggling artistes! 8pm onwards

And before you know it, FRIDAY comes around and we present a smorgasbord of music, commencing with ANNE WEERAPASS and friends for a soulful night. A dynamic voice complimented by talented playing, keys interlacing with beats – 9:30pm onwards – pure magic. Head on up to LOUNGE if you fancy a SOULSTRUT night – DJs spin out some electro fused with good ole fashion funk and soul. 9:30pm onwards

AYASCHOOL presents some new faces Junji Delfino from KL on vox, Christy Smith on bass, Soh Wen Ming on drums and, of course, Aya on keys. Some crooning, some acid sounds and some smooth tunes to carry you over to Sunday with a smile on your face. 9:30pm onwards. If you love minimal, then you should go on up to LOUNGE OR SPACE for “I luv Minimal” with a slew of happy fingered DJs.

There is nothing that quite beats the first waft of cafe aroma on a Monday morning. After your cuppa, we invite you to our humble abode for our lovely set lunch – what better way to stuck the week with a little personal treat.

On TUESDAY, the French Duo Huguette & Toufik (Hugo et Sophie) from France, two crazy cupcakes starting their world tour with music!

Guitar, ukulele and harmonica… rhythm, folk and reggae covers to make you shake your bootie and chill. A groovy duet taking over LOUNGE (2nd floor) with an accoustic set to celebrate life. Musical journey of reflection and quiet joy. 9pm onwards. And it’s “gratuit” (complimentary to all music seekers)

We take things up a notch on WEDNESDAY with Eddy’s Jam Session @ Cafe. A band whose passion for jazz meshed together with the love of performing – sharing this cool genre with you. Bring self. 9pm onwards.

Are you born in the 60s, the 70s? Do you reminisce the good o’days watching old Hong Kong slapstick or heart wrenching Gangster Movies like Young & Dangerous and Fight Back to School? Do Stephan Chow, Andy Lau, Chow Yun Fatt, Sandra Ng, Ng Meng Tat come easily to mind? Curly and Sam bring you a movie screening DOWN MEMORY LANE @ LOUNGE on THURSDAY - from 8pm onwards.

The gorgeous and wonderful Anne Weerapass will grace us with her enchanting voice this FRIDAY @ Cafe. So come on by and catch the repertoire of cool sounds and sizzling vocals from 9:30pm onwards.

E-TracX DJ School celebrates their 9th Anniversary and will be blowing your ears and minds off @ Lounge and Space. With a line up of more than 15 DJs, covering a wide range of genres from Hip Hop, Funk & Soul and Reggae to Electronica, you’re going to find something to set you dancing and carry on till wee hours of the night. Doors open as early as 6pm, yo.

We’re gearing up for a new baby in the family and she is going to be brazen, moody, lovely, spicy all roll into one. She’ll just be a block down the street from us and we’re real happy to see her birth. As for her name – tune in to catch the christening of the new kid on the block.

Midweek Wednesday calls for a celebration because you’ve survived Monday blues and Tuesday tedium. So Funky Monkeys have the honour to encompass your listening mind with notes of funk, reggae and some soul. 8pm onwards @ Space

And Thursday sees Singapore’s talent on stage with Poetry Slam Night. Watch poets and spoken word artists perform their original poems over a 3-round competition. If your poetic side needs a go, you’re given 3 minutes to express yourself and then a round robin style to find the favorite for the night. Judges are randomly selected from the audience will score the poems based on content, performance and audience reaction. The Slam is hosted by Arianna Pozzuoli and will feature guest singer and songwriter Guro Røberg. Get on stage and Slam, or kick back, grab a drink and soak up the live action on stage. SGD 7 cover charge and winner goes home with SGD 75. 8pm onwards @ Space

To celebrate the end of the work week, we have Fuze Collective in the house this Friday – guaranteed to melt all stress away when you start a-groovin’ to Noor’s magic beats. 9:30pm @ Cafe. And for those even more energetic, Pushin’On blows in the doors of both Lounge and Space with Dance Sucka from 9pm . It’s their annual dance jam where poppers and lockers pose, strut their stuff. It has been taught in most major dance studios and dancers have gone on to compete in Korea, Japan and the US. We always encourage people to dance, but this time you might want to book a massage for the day after.

Dan Buckley joins us fresssh from the UK to lay down an infamous blend of jacked up tech fuelled beatz and electro. Back once again to twist your soul and trick your mind is RTYPE dubstep conisseur and cosmic funk aficionado, no-one can take you deeper.  Still shacking from his Lush FM debut Clark our very own electro renegade and techno evangelist is primed and set to get your hands in the air with an explosive box of late night crackers.  9pm onwards @ Lounge. If rock is in your blood that night, catch Leonie Hill‘s last performance of the year @ Blu Jaz Space – 9pm onwards

And the ghouls and witches are lords and empresses this end week but we continue to roll out great cocktails and yummy dishes with friendly servers.

THURSDAY – it’s poetry slam night! Watch poets and spoken word artists perform their original poems over a 3-round competition. Poets are given 3 minutes to express themselves. Judges, who are randomly selected from the audience, then score the poems based on content, performance and audience reaction. Top scoring poets from each round will progress to the next. A sacrificial poet will kick off the competition to help the judges calibrate their scores. The Slam will be hosted by Arianna Pozzuoli and will feature guest poet Miriam Nash. Get on stage and Slam, or kick back, grab a drink and soak up the live action on stage @ Space from 7:30pm onwards

Cover charge: $7
Winner of the Slam will take home a $75 cash prize.

FRIDAY – It’s going to be a swaperoo with Aya this weekend when this most delightful, mischievous, talented musician plays on Friday! – Together with Casey on bass, Wen on drums and R. Jackson on vox – it’s going to be a smooth, sexy night. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe
And of course being the LAST Friday of the month, the outstanding crew from Pushin’ On will be dealing us with the sweet, sassy, funky, ultra cool stuff – 9:30pm onwards @ BOTH Lounge and Space – come on up for some serious boogie music.

SATURDAY – Being in Singapore for over 6 years, Ireson, brings us some hot, thumpin’ Latin rhythms – shaken with some cool Jazz, and hey – we have Bossa Nova. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe, it’s a treat not to be missed!
For those craving some bass – it’s eclectic electronica ranging from house to minimalist to techno and a whole dose of progressive. 44 Beats holds courts and plays ruler @ Lounge. 9:30pm onwards

Blu Jaz is jumping for joy and for sure with very exciting things happening in May…. so happy that we might just p33 in our pants….. :-D In chronological order ….

We are starting a SWING FLING! It’s happening  every Thurs @ Space (3rd Flr) in May. Partnering up with Jitterbugs Swingapore, there will be a free 45min lindy hop class for newbies from 7:30pm before we start the dance floor for all to jam and show of those rockin’ dance moves. For the FIRST swing fling, Jazz Nuts (18 member band!!)  will serenade and inspire us to hop out and venture forth!
Good Times is celebrating their 1st Anniversary with us on the 22nd May, taking over 2 floors and providing us with some killer music.
