6th April – 11th April
April 6, 2009
The oracle shall answer the question on everyone’s mind. The answer is YES. We are open this Friday with our resident band: The Greg Lyon’s Quartet.
We start the week off with our nocturnal 10 pc in its natural habitat, shaking the timbers and rattling the windows @ Cafe. They start from 9pm and will be bringing in groovy sounds for 2 sets
The band will be Andrew Lim on guitar, Casey Subramaniam on bass, Chris Oldman on drums, Anabel Chew on flute, Fabian Lim on alto sax, Tim O’Dwyer on baritone sax, Greg Lyons on tenor/soprano sax, Fredi Sonderegger on bass trombone, Leo Jeoh on tenor trombone and Dan Wong on trumpet and flugelhorn.
Lila Drums bring bits of Africa to us via a smashin’ Djembe session @ Cafe on the 9th April (thurs) night from 8pm – for those who would like to start off with an alternative week to this wonderful long weekend
Greg Lyon’s quartet woos us on Friday (10th April) with more smooth grooves with Greg on sax, Mei Sheum on organ, Casey Subramaniam on bass and Chris Oldman on drums. Sets start at 9:30pm @ Cafe
Mario Lopez and friends are bringing some latin jazz sounds to our cafe this Saturday (11th April) from 9:30pm. Join them for some wicked melodies and thumpin rhythms. Cafe.
Vocalise Artistes Management is giving us a night of music with a twist – featuring in house talents from their pop, rock and dance classes – these musicians will be incorporating accoustic string instruments with rock music, creating some uptempo sonds. 9pm @ Lounge (2nd Flr) on Saturday
44 Beatz returns for their monthly sounds – April’s Soundscapes is a all about deep, funky, jazzy (obviously) tech house. They’ll take you on a journey through the rhythm’s of detroit, paris and london on a soulful and jazzy blend of works classic and recent. Joining Clark on the decks (and I can’t wait for this) is Raeburn J. Renowned for his deep, soulful funky and indeed Jazzy (theres that word again) sets. Its going to be one ‘goovy salad!’ (his words not mine). Time once again to bob your head and loose yourself to the beats. See you on the dancefloor
