On TUESDAY, the French Duo Huguette & Toufik (Hugo et Sophie) from France, two crazy cupcakes starting their world tour with music!

Guitar, ukulele and harmonica… rhythm, folk and reggae covers to make you shake your bootie and chill. A groovy duet taking over LOUNGE (2nd floor) with an accoustic set to celebrate life. Musical journey of reflection and quiet joy. 9pm onwards. And it’s “gratuit” (complimentary to all music seekers)

We take things up a notch on WEDNESDAY with Eddy’s Jam Session @ Cafe. A band whose passion for jazz meshed together with the love of performing – sharing this cool genre with you. Bring self. 9pm onwards.

Are you born in the 60s, the 70s? Do you reminisce the good o’days watching old Hong Kong slapstick or heart wrenching Gangster Movies like Young & Dangerous and Fight Back to School? Do Stephan Chow, Andy Lau, Chow Yun Fatt, Sandra Ng, Ng Meng Tat come easily to mind? Curly and Sam bring you a movie screening DOWN MEMORY LANE @ LOUNGE on THURSDAY - from 8pm onwards.

The gorgeous and wonderful Anne Weerapass will grace us with her enchanting voice this FRIDAY @ Cafe. So come on by and catch the repertoire of cool sounds and sizzling vocals from 9:30pm onwards.

Wrapping up the week, just gorgeously, this SATURDAY are:
Ayaschool – Naughty and Nice, featuring Joanna Dong on vocals, Muhd Noor on drums, Bani on bass – if you’re expecting a traditional arrangements of Christmas carols – bear in mind Jo’s ‘twisted’ humor. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.
E-TracX DJ School celebrates their 9th Anniversary and will be blowing your ears and minds off @ Lounge and Space. With a line up of more than 15 DJs, covering a wide range of genres from Hip Hop, Funk & Soul and Reggae to Electronica, you’re going to find something to set you dancing and carry on till wee hours of the night. Doors open as early as 6pm, yo.

It’s rainy season and you know it with us being rained on almost every afternoon. Come take refuge @ our friendly cafe with our famous seafood sambal fried rice or a beer for company.

Music accompaniment starts on TUESDAY with TwentyNine-Eleven – a band of LaSalle musicians led by Jeremy Tordjman, introducing some jazz classics to your ears. 9:30pm onwards @ Lounge. Entry is almost compulsory and definitely complimentary.

And on WEDNESDAY, Eddy’s Jam Session is back and kicking for another mesmerizing session. Set starts at 9pm and won’t stop till we close! (or in the region of)

If the spoken word is your love, hang out with the guys @ POETRY SLAM this THURSDAY @ SPACE. The ‘hearing’ commences at 8pm.

The velvet voice is back @ Blu Jaz Cafe. Come FRIDAY, Fendi and his crew might make you sigh and swoon over his soulful funk sounds. 9:30pm onwards. And Pushin’On does a special as it’s their LAST PARTY OF 2011! The night sees The Mighty Mighty and guests, Renee Smith on vocals and Ad Jeuken on keys bring the house down, followed by resident and guest DJs, featuring:

Well – we have some talented musicians from our neighbours: Srey Channthy and Julien Poulson aka the Monkey & the Mermaid, vocals and guitar for THE CAMBODIAN SPACE PROJECT are stopping in Singapore for one night only. They will be playing an acoustic set from The Cambodian Space Project ALBUM at BluJaz Space – from 8pm onwards. What some people say about them:

George comes back on with MATRIX JAM on WEDNESDAY - head up to Lounge if you wanna be part of a host of talents with a jazz jam. 8:30pm onwards.

Wicked Aura is back at Blu Jaz this FRIDAY! This time to raise funds for their NEXT album: Voodoo. It’s a going to be fun, it’s a going to be rocking, it’s a going to be WICKED. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. If it’s a different sort of party you’re craving for, GOOD TIMES returns on the 1st Friday of the month to present with DJ Krumbs, Intrigue and Race* on the decks. Expect the usual collision of sounds – from Hip-Hop to Funk to Dubstep and back – set against the cosiest, most laidback joint in Singapore. It’s 2 Floors of fun, yo.

SATURDAY sees Ayaschool back at Cafe. From 9:30pm onwards, this lovely lady will give a kill keyboard set along with some friends to croon and blast out those jazz tunes. Infused with some soul, funk and loads of talent, the music is devine. If your groove leans towards the islands – REGGAE is the name of the game. Lounge and Space give you DJs with the Jamaican flava. 9:30pm onwards.

I love Mondays with a bang….a musical sort of bang it is. OMNIFORM performs TONIGHT @ Cafe with original composition by Greg Lyons from 8:30pm onwards. And if you need a little more intimacy, head on up to SPACE where Nic Jeffries from down under plays with musicians such as Aya Sekine. Singer and saxaphonist’s debut album. SGD 5 cover for this budding solo artiste.

Come WEDNESDAY, we have the Matrix jam session, so you’re most likely gonna be spoiled for choice with the variety of musicians who drop by! George’s Matrix Jam is happening @ Lounge from 9pm onwards. Join us for some grrrrreeeaaat music!

it’s gonna be sexy THURSDAY cos Simon is back with some deep house grooves at Lounge from 9:30pm onwards. And if you’d like to catch some tunes in the way of Lenny Kravitz, Police, Maroon5 and that sort, PHAT makes their appearance with covers @ Space from 8;30pm onwards.

It’s a Latin Affair this FRIDAY @ Cafe and it’s muy cliente! We have the boys on stage with us whipping up some great tunes! The Line Up: Carlos, Enriquez, Hiro and Pablo. 9:30pm onwards.

And Aya makes her second appearance this week with AYASCHOOL on SATURDAY – a no holds bar of creative energy and passion – the delivery is smooth and hot at the same time. STRETCH It IS a short work week – even for us and we welcome the reprieve like thirsted man to water. What’s happening this week? Well TONIGHT - we have Eddy leading a jam session @ Cafe from 8:30pm onwards – even if you’re not going to jump on stage, hang back and let them musicians entertain.

Our Deep House DJ, M. Simon, is back – with more sexy grooves to tide THURSDAY over to the weekend. 9pm onwards @ Lounge. Find a corner, go ahead – lounge.

We’ve got a new group to croon out those jazzy tunes – The Take Off Cafe – Smooth and chilled – 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe on FRIDAY . May also marks the 3rd Anniversary of GOOD TIMES and this makes for a damn good excuse for us to hold a bigger, badder party. They’ve brought back three of their fave selectors from Singapore and beyond. Topping the bill, we’ve got Darren Dubwise from Syndicate crew. Expect lots of BASS. In support, we’ve got Andrew M from Aussieland dropping some quality Hip-Hop. His crate runs deep, so expect a healthy mix of old school and new school beats. We’ve also got Presha from Meshradio laying down a selection of deep vibes and broken rhythms. 9:30pm onwards @ Lounge. And if you’re feeling a little more electronic sounds – SYNQ Collective hosts their DJs @ Space from 9:30pm onwards.

It’s a little hard to remain apathetic when the air is filled with a certain sort of buzz and the general elections, this year, seem to evoke more ambivalent sentiments than before….. at least that is what the coffee shop uncle says…. be it the polls or an epiphany on your rest of your life, we offer you space for that philosophical discussion among friends.

But if you’re hankering for a little music – we start mid week (WEDNESDAY) with Matrix Jam @ Lounge – bring your instruments down and I guess the only rule is keep up with the rest of the musicians – and yes, your vocals IS your instrument too… look for George from 8:30pm onwards

From notes to words – we bring you POETRY SLAM @ SPACE on THURSDAY - join our budding and aspiring poets – from solemn to quirky, from passionate to the darker realm, speak. We give you the stage. From 8pm onwards

And then it’s the weekend – we bring you some great blues from FunkyMunkees on FRIDAY - the young band with experienced sounds – close your eyes and dream of trip along the Mississippi – Tom Sawyer-like. 9:30pm @ Cafe. But if it’s a party you’re craving for, Pushin’On is going to bring it – featuring Brandon P, Masterpiece and the Mighty Mighty – right along with resident DJs Shellsuit, Chunk, Dave Code and Gonzo covering dance music in funk, soul, hip-hop, disco, boogie, swing, jazz, latin, reggae, rockabilly and afrobeat. 9:30pm @ Lounge.

On SATURDAY, we bring you some cool sounds with IRESON - a trio who boasts some of the best latin-jazz mixes you’ll get to hear around town. 9:30pm @ Cafe. The party continues with 44 Beatz @ Lounge from 9:30pm onwards with some great Techhouse and Electro – it’s Soundscapes with great sounds and the catalyst to your dancing from night till dawn.

And we’ll give a shout out for our sister at PIEDRA NEGRA with Passion(sensation – also residing temporary on the 2nd flr of Piedra on Saturday. And TRANCE is the main course on the menu that night.

A while back, we had the pleasure of Trent Williams dropping by our cafe to play for a night… he has a new video series – Park Bench Series – go on, have a look… lovely introspective inspiring piece just to accompany you during the day.

We start mid-week, this time round, with exercising our funny bone. It’s Stand Up for Singapore Comedy night again! YAY - Jon Atheron plays hosts and welcomes you, at least initially, to try your hand on stage and depending on your material, you may just survive your 5 minutes of fame and audiences will be clamoring for more! SGD 10 entry. 8pm @ Space on WEDNESDAY!

FRIDAY comes around before you know it and it’s Noor and gang @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards, wooing you with nothing more or less than great music and passion. Head on up to Lounge to Turn Up the Heat (as if Singapore’s weather isn’t hot enough!) for some great DJ music – ranging from a little bit of progressive house to some great Latin fused beats. 9:30pm onwards.

It’s going to be a totally awesome Saturday as well with Vanessa Fernandez headlining our jazz group @ Cafe. With her hip hop and soul background, that something special and funky will surely come through and get you dancing! Up at LOUNGE, we present CHROAM -  CU3: The Music – an eclectic mix of urban sounds in chilled house party style atmosphere. CU3: The Music is the third installment of this urban music night. The CHROAM boys draw from an eclectic bag of grooves from the 70′s through to the here and now. Rare grooves, Funk, UK garage, deep soulful house, Hip/Hop you’ll find it at all CU3. It is about the people and the music …just bring your groove, an open mind and be prepared to move. We are bringing the house party to you!!!

It’s mid week and if you’ve been around, you’d have caught an awesome band – Ominform – on Monday @ Cafe – original compositions by Greg Lyons come to life! And you might have heard strains of a new band (new to us, anyway) Amnesia with their own brand of funky sounds… on Tuesday

Tonight (WEDNESDAY) we have Matrix Jam, hosted by George – which means all aspiring or professional musicians – head on up to Lounge from 8:30pm onwards and play your hearts out. A jammin’ session for musicians by musicians. And if you have a different sort of talent to unleash to our enthusiastic crowd – it’s open mic up @ Space from 8:30pm – try finding that tickle bone and see if you’ve got it.

Simon is back this month with his deep house mixes – sexy and tribal – join him @ Lounge on THURSDAY from 9pm onwards.

It’s the sexy chic Nikki D on sax – along with her friends so you’ll be getting a great night of Jazz on FRIDAY @ Cafe. Drop by from 9:30pm onwards to catch them or come even earlier for some yummy eats. Mosey along up to Lounge with Substance hosting – DJs spin minimal sounds to trance to techno to get you that high. 9:30pm onwards

And even though Aya is on a musical journey, we are terribly excited to have the Wicked boys this SATURDAY. It’s Wicked Aura Batucada, my friends and they WILL bring the house down. Join us from 9:30pm @ Cafe if not, you’ll be kicking yourself all the way till next year. Run up for some chilled vibes with the DJs doing a reggae night – so groove between the addictive Jamaican beats @ Lounge from 9:30pm and the infectious Brazilian rhythms!

FRIDAY is a night of promises and delightful anticipation – and after you get your fill of ” M.I.G” feat. Casey(bs/vo), Leo Mendoza(sax), Bashir(keys) and Mhd Noor on drums, we guarantee – you be satisfied. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. If you need the sounds of a different tropical island – we throwing a reggae party @ Lounge. 3DJs, 2 Live Bands – we will rock out. 9:30pm onwards

SATURDAY is one of our hottest night with AYASCHOOL at helm for the night’s entertainment. Long time no see stranger – Floods – is back on drums! Anne Weerapaas on vox and Bani on bass. Nuff said. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. We have the good people of Dance N Music Studio giving us some original mixes. Their music revels stray to alternative paths and will never bore. HAPPY HOLIDAYS and to all our Christian friends – Merry Christmas! We have the best way to celebrate this week – with friends. It’s our pleasure to offer you our cafe – as good as it has been – open on the 24th and 25th Dec for your bookings! Our Muzium 1 & 2 are perfect venues for your gatherings – as well as space and lounge. Do note, however we CLOSE at 1am all around on the 25th Dec for a staff party!

But if you’re hankering for a program, Kerong and friends put up at Space for some snazzy jazz on Thursday. Cover is SGD 15 for the musicians and set starts at 8:30pm

Friday – Christmas Eve – Aya has something special planned up her sleeve – I have a feeling that Hendrix might be of influence but we’ll see. Excitement is tangible and we recommend reservations. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Feeling tropical? From one island to another, Firman brings Reggae to Lounge and will be mixing some chillin’ to some chilli hot tunes late into the night. 9:30pm onwards.
