We’re gearing up for a new baby in the family and she is going to be brazen, moody, lovely, spicy all roll into one. She’ll just be a block down the street from us and we’re real happy to see her birth. As for her name – tune in to catch the christening of the new kid on the block.
Midweek Wednesday calls for a celebration because you’ve survived Monday blues and Tuesday tedium. So Funky Monkeys have the honour to encompass your listening mind with notes of funk, reggae and some soul. 8pm onwards @ Space
And Thursday sees Singapore’s talent on stage with Poetry Slam Night. Watch poets and spoken word artists perform their original poems over a 3-round competition. If your poetic side needs a go, you’re given 3 minutes to express yourself and then a round robin style to find the favorite for the night. Judges are randomly selected from the audience will score the poems based on content, performance and audience reaction. The Slam is hosted by Arianna Pozzuoli and will feature guest singer and songwriter Guro Røberg. Get on stage and Slam, or kick back, grab a drink and soak up the live action on stage. SGD 7 cover charge and winner goes home with SGD 75. 8pm onwards @ Space
To celebrate the end of the work week, we have Fuze Collective in the house this Friday – guaranteed to melt all stress away when you start a-groovin’ to Noor’s magic beats. 9:30pm @ Cafe. And for those even more energetic, Pushin’On blows in the doors of both Lounge and Space with Dance Sucka from 9pm . It’s their annual dance jam where poppers and lockers pose, strut their stuff. It has been taught in most major dance studios and dancers have gone on to compete in Korea, Japan and the US. We always encourage people to dance, but this time you might want to book a massage for the day after.

Dan Buckley joins us fresssh from the UK to lay down an infamous blend of jacked up tech fuelled beatz and electro. Back once again to twist your soul and trick your mind is RTYPE dubstep conisseur and cosmic funk aficionado, no-one can take you deeper.  Still shacking from his Lush FM debut Clark our very own electro renegade and techno evangelist is primed and set to get your hands in the air with an explosive box of late night crackers.  9pm onwards @ Lounge. WOOT! It’s a short work week all around with the break smack in the middle of the week. And this means, making merry can last till the wee, wee hours in the morning and at Blu Jaz – we welcome you with open arms, well doors, really.
So it’s the weekend treats we’re looking for and there they are – M.I.G is on premises with some great funky sounds on FRIDAY from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. Noor plays a mean beat and we love him all the more for it. It’ll be dance mode late into the night. And on SATURDAY, it’s time for school but only the fun class – Let’s give it up for our prof in the class – Ms AYA Sekine! Her crew and her will bring you to new musical high. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And feel free to toggle cos right up @ LOUNGE, we feature Lupa Band and DJ SHINE with more chilled out grooves from the Jamaican islands… Reggae is king. 9:30pm onwards.

We don’t get much of falling leaves and all but certainly we still make pretty colors…. the neighborhood is stirring and things are a changing… always for the better.
We help ease you into the week with OMNIFORM - a 10-piece sound of 3 saxes, 3 brass, flute and rhythm section performing the original compositions and arrangements of saxophonist Greg Lyons at Cafe tonight (Monday) from 9pm onwards.
And if you’re craving for a touch of Latin, Aya may just round up the gang for a Fiesta mid-week (Wednesday) @ Space from 9pm. Catch some hot rhythms and cool jazz to give some glimpse of bossa nova throughout the night.
Swing your way to the 1st Thursday of the month with Jitterbugs for Swing Fling! Dancers and enthusiasts alike come on down for a night of Lindy Hop and Charleston-era songs – let that ole magic work for you while you bee bop till the next working day. 8pm onwards @ Cafe – Complimentary demo by SING if you ask nicely.
And our favoritest percussion, Noor, comes back with his crew of merry music makers. It’s hot and fast this Friday @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. Main Course: Jazz. But if your body and soul need to move to a different beat, DJs from Republic Poly churn out their hits ranging from top 40s remixes to electronic dance. 8pm onwards @ Lounge
And to round up the week (Saturday), we have AYASCHOOL! It’s time for some doctor LURVE with Aya and her crazzzzy friends – the intangible positive energy from free jazz, up-tempo jazz, swing jazz and maybe even some Dixie – you never know. The good vibes start from 9:30pm @ Cafe. And new sounds keep popping out while our homies bring about some Reggae Ska music – live! Three Bands to entertain and ignite those souls from 9pm onwards at Lounge. So, come on up.

Needless to say that the long weekend was a welcome break for most of us – be it a day lounging around or a boogie night out. Join us tonight with some live muzak @ Space, featuring Rahul and his mates – it’s a night of sing-along favorites – well, their favorites. 9pm onwards TONIGHT

It’s a cool week and we bring you programs just as cool – starting with Blink-Bl_nk – an engaging session of talks and discussion on WEDNESDAY from 7pm @ Space. This week hits close to the heart with – The Future of Singapore Hawker Centres by Elizabeth Bennett, find ways to improve your life with Carl Coryell-Martin:Â Building a Life: Lean Manufacturing and Agile Development Applied to Everyday Living and join us for the implication on privacy with the effects of cybernetics and memory: The Price of Perfect Memory. And if chillin’ is your thing, DJ Divine is our residential Reggae master serving up mixes of tropics and breeze @ Lounge from 9pm onwards.
And to rev it up, Mohd Noor still holds court @ Cafe on FRIDAY from 9:30pm with stunning music-try and infectious beats. Head on up to SPACE from 9pm onwards for Twilight over Tokyo for some indie flava.

This cup is full of surprises and it’s kinda sad that we’re waving off S Korea…. the group of nice(looking) young lads….. However, there are more exciting matches and we continue screening these battles in full volume: Netherlands vs Slovakia tonight and Spain vs Portugal tomorrow.

An unpredictable wind is blowing – the flood downtown resulting in a temporary (muddy) river down Orchard Road, France lost both games and Italy didn’t come up on top…. but luckily things pass and all can be settled and right again…
It’s still all groovy with us and we’re bringing you live music – brilliantly played as always – Grooveworks takes stage @ Cafe for both TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY from 9pm onwards. And if you’re seeking to march to a different beat, scamper on up to Lounge for some REGGAE with DJ Divine on Wed from 9pm.

HAPPY SHORT WEEK! Well, applicable to those within four walls from 9 – 6 but we are here for you. We are OPENED as usual so drop by, unwind… and maybe get happy.

It’s a beautiful trial in every possible way, myriad of soul, love and talent. Swing Fling brings up the moves a notch as they swing on up to LOUNGE. Showing off Lindy jumps and splits, the Jitterbug dancers are there purely for the love of swing music and dance. Regardless of your level, feel free to boogie on by.
