On TUESDAY, the French Duo Huguette & Toufik (Hugo et Sophie) from France, two crazy cupcakes starting their world tour with music!
Guitar, ukulele and harmonica… rhythm, folk and reggae covers to make you shake your bootie and chill. A groovy duet taking over LOUNGE (2nd floor) with an accoustic set to celebrate life. Musical journey of reflection and quiet joy. 9pm onwards. And it’s “gratuit” (complimentary to all music seekers)
We take things up a notch on WEDNESDAY with Eddy’s Jam Session @ Cafe. A band whose passion for jazz meshed together with the love of performing – sharing this cool genre with you. Bring self. 9pm onwards.
Are you born in the 60s, the 70s? Do you reminisce the good o’days watching old Hong Kong slapstick or heart wrenching Gangster Movies like Young & Dangerous and Fight Back to School? Do Stephan Chow, Andy Lau, Chow Yun Fatt, Sandra Ng, Ng Meng Tat come easily to mind? Curly and Sam bring you a movie screening DOWN MEMORY LANE @ LOUNGE on THURSDAY - from 8pm onwards.
The gorgeous and wonderful Anne Weerapass will grace us with her enchanting voice this FRIDAY @ Cafe. So come on by and catch the repertoire of cool sounds and sizzling vocals from 9:30pm onwards.
Wrapping up the week, just gorgeously, this SATURDAY are:
Ayaschool – Naughty and Nice, featuring Joanna Dong on vocals, Muhd Noor on drums, Bani on bass – if you’re expecting a traditional arrangements of Christmas carols – bear in mind Jo’s ‘twisted’ humor. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.
E-TracX DJ School celebrates their 9th Anniversary and will be blowing your ears and minds off @ Lounge and Space. With a line up of more than 15 DJs, covering a wide range of genres from Hip Hop, Funk & Soul and Reggae to Electronica, you’re going to find something to set you dancing and carry on till wee hours of the night. Doors open as early as 6pm, yo.

OMNIFORM plays tonight! It’s a cool MONDAY evening when 11 talented musicians gather together to send out some great vibes of original music. 9pm @ Cafe
Come TUESDAY, we invite you to join INSIGHT up @ Space from 8:30pm onwards for an unique sonic experience. A young jazz guitarist, eager to expand his musical horizon, met a symphonic metal singer with a burning passion for music and formed an acoustic duo that aims to push the boundary of typical ‘acoustic’ music. But this Tuesday, they are backed by a 4-strong band, performing arrangements and originals by guitarist Amos Tadete!
And on WEDNESDAY – it’s EDDY’s JAM SESSION @ Cafe – a night of experimental jazz sounds for the discerning ear. 9pm onwards.
If youâre looking for a different sort of Wednesday night, come on down to blink bl_nk. Itâs a great night of speakers, music, and good old fashioned socializing. Itâs a classic blinkBL-NK grab bag this month, so please come down and enjoy the variety. Because everyone loves a good laugh, we have MARK ZHANG - our stand up comedian for the week. Mark Zhang makes a special appearance at Blu Jaz LOUNGE on THURSDAY. Zhang has carved a name for himself as a leading Asian American comedian. He has performed at venues worldwide, and was a finalist in the San Francisco “Walk the Plank” Comedy Competition and at the Northern California Improv Comedy Competition. He has also appeared on Comedy Time TV and Last Comic Standing on NBC. 9pm onwards.
And if it’s music you’re craving for, head on up to SPACE. JEREMY TORDJMAN GROUP brings you great music. In Singapore, featuring: BARRY LIKUMAHUWA (Top bass player from Indonesia),ERIK HARGROVE from USA (ex-drummer of James Brown, Bootsy Collins & more), the well known top artist from Singapore JEREMY MONTEIRO on Keyboard, JEREMY TORDJMAN on Guitar. INCOMA encompasses a group of young DJs who will be playing their hearts out @ LOUNGE. Eclectic is the music but friendlier to the masses – they throw in some 80′s tunes and mash ups. 9:30pm onwards
SATURDAY sees AYASCHOOL as our headliner @ Cafe. 9:30pm onwards for 3 great sets of mind-blowing music. Aya on keys, Darryl Ervin on drums and Christy Smith on bass.
If you need to feel some CARNIVALE energy this weekend, our sister outlet – Piedra Negra – is throwing a party on SATURDAY – BRAZILIAN style – RITMO DE BRASIL. Watch a spectacular display of Capoeira feats and acrobatics by international Capoeira artists from Brazil, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Philipines and Malaysia. Be intrigued by “Maculele”, an Afro-Brazilian tribal dance derived from traditional Brazilian folklore. Be part of the first Brazilian Forro party in Singapore. Sensual Sambistas accompanied by an authentic Batucada band to get you on your feet and dancing to the rousing rhythms of Brazil. Simon returns with deep, sexy house the first THURSDAY of the month and he is going to provide some groovy right before the weekend hits. So come on up to LOUNGE and give your ears an aural pleasure. 9:30pm onwards.
Come FRIDAY - party with GOOD TIMES @ Lounge. It’s veteran hip-hop selector DJ DREM and breakbeat mainstay Joshua P on the decks. They’re joined by Kiat, head honcho of the mighty Syndicate collective and a pioneer of the local underground sound. They are also showcasing Orita Sinclair – a boutique design, new media and arts school. In gratitude, Good Times is proud to showcase a collection of Good Times posters designed by their students. (They’re lookin’ mighty dope!) As always, there’s no dress code to party with us and entry is absolutely free.

So here is the low-down, bullet style, for this week.
Jeremy Monteiro and his crew joins us on WEDNESDAY (only in August!!!) @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. So if you would like to catch one of Singapore’s pillar jazz musician, come on down.
On THURSDAY, we host Rhythm with a Reason – a night of acoustic – spanning 3 different bands where they come together for a cause. 9pm onwards @ Space.
And we have Greg Lyons and mates, this time on a FRIDAY, @ Cafe from 9:30pm onwards. But for Soundscapes wtih 44 beatz where tech, house, a dash of trance fill the airways, head on up to Lounge. From 9:30pm onwards.
And for our regular, feel good, sounds great band – AYASCHOOL, plays this SATURDAY from 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. It’s a jazz gig with a little them funk, soul and latin…. P!O!P! KISS! Indie Night @ space where Janson from 4 Imaginary boys, Redmund from Dylan Productions House and Collin from Fluid Mix Singapore will be deejaying the night away. From 9:30pm onwards

Time is only as important as you make it to be, once gone, it can never be returned…. unless you own a TANDIS but that is neither here nor there. We love end of the month as much as we love the beginning of the month so it’s wonderful that we have a COMBINATION this week.
Join Eddy’s Revival Jam Session on WEDNESDAY @ Blu Jaz Cafe. Tis the night to make merry (and perhaps some sing-a-long or chime in with an instrument or two) They be on stage from 8:30pm onwards, so come on down and be entertained.
Tropic Green plays FRIDAY and this 8 man strong band isagoing to give us some blues, funk, soul, jazz – those yummy tunes that make us Blu Jaz Cafe! 9:30pm onwards @ CAFE. Head on up to Lounge for some GOOD TIMES. Yesssssss 1st Friday of the month will allow us some hearty partaaaayyying. Headlining is UK Dubstep outfit CLEVER MONKEY, with a guest appearance by local multi-instrumentalist/noise-wizard Stewart Bamrah. In support, we’ve got DJs NATE and SIVANESH (from local collective RHOTD) dropping some four to the floor flavour. DJ KRUMBS will be holding it down on the Hip-Hop tip, with a generous serving of head-snapping Funk and Soul on the side. 9:30pm onwards.
Come SATURDAY, you’ll get our regular, punchy, wake up, spiiicceeeyyy sounds of AYASCHOOL. Resident band, diva with the talent, we’re going to see, or rather hear, some fantastic jazz – among other things… 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe.
And returning to our neighbourhood @ Piedra Negra is PASSION – Passion(Sensation returns transcending genres. Faithfuls descend to savour the divine Western fare, lounge from 9 to 12, and party up till 3am with the boys dishing out select tunes @ LOUNGE

It’s a little hard to remain apathetic when the air is filled with a certain sort of buzz and the general elections, this year, seem to evoke more ambivalent sentiments than before….. at least that is what the coffee shop uncle says…. be it the polls or an epiphany on your rest of your life, we offer you space for that philosophical discussion among friends.
But if you’re hankering for a little music – we start mid week (WEDNESDAY) with Matrix Jam @ Lounge – bring your instruments down and I guess the only rule is keep up with the rest of the musicians – and yes, your vocals IS your instrument too… look for George from 8:30pm onwards
From notes to words – we bring you POETRY SLAM @ SPACE on THURSDAY - join our budding and aspiring poets – from solemn to quirky, from passionate to the darker realm, speak. We give you the stage. From 8pm onwards
And then it’s the weekend – we bring you some great blues from FunkyMunkees on FRIDAY - the young band with experienced sounds – close your eyes and dream of trip along the Mississippi – Tom Sawyer-like. 9:30pm @ Cafe. But if it’s a party you’re craving for, Pushin’On is going to bring it – featuring Brandon P, Masterpiece and the Mighty Mighty – right along with resident DJs Shellsuit, Chunk, Dave Code and Gonzo covering dance music in funk, soul, hip-hop, disco, boogie, swing, jazz, latin, reggae, rockabilly and afrobeat. 9:30pm @ Lounge.
On SATURDAY, we bring you some cool sounds with IRESON - a trio who boasts some of the best latin-jazz mixes you’ll get to hear around town. 9:30pm @ Cafe. The party continues with 44 Beatz @ Lounge from 9:30pm onwards with some great Techhouse and Electro – it’s Soundscapes with great sounds and the catalyst to your dancing from night till dawn.
And we’ll give a shout out for our sister at PIEDRA NEGRA with Passion(sensation – also residing temporary on the 2nd flr of Piedra on Saturday. And TRANCE is the main course on the menu that night.

It’s mid week and if you’ve been around, you’d have caught an awesome band – Ominform – on Monday @ Cafe – original compositions by Greg Lyons come to life! And you might have heard strains of a new band (new to us, anyway) Amnesia with their own brand of funky sounds… on Tuesday
Tonight (WEDNESDAY) we have Matrix Jam, hosted by George – which means all aspiring or professional musicians – head on up to Lounge from 8:30pm onwards and play your hearts out. A jammin’ session for musicians by musicians. And if you have a different sort of talent to unleash to our enthusiastic crowd – it’s open mic up @ Space from 8:30pm – try finding that tickle bone and see if you’ve got it.
Simon is back this month with his deep house mixes – sexy and tribal – join him @ Lounge on THURSDAY from 9pm onwards.
It’s the sexy chic Nikki D on sax – along with her friends so you’ll be getting a great night of Jazz on FRIDAY @ Cafe. Drop by from 9:30pm onwards to catch them or come even earlier for some yummy eats. Mosey along up to Lounge with Substance hosting – DJs spin minimal sounds to trance to techno to get you that high. 9:30pm onwards
And even though Aya is on a musical journey, we are terribly excited to have the Wicked boys this SATURDAY. It’s Wicked Aura Batucada, my friends and they WILL bring the house down. Join us from 9:30pm @ Cafe if not, you’ll be kicking yourself all the way till next year. Run up for some chilled vibes with the DJs doing a reggae night – so groove between the addictive Jamaican beats @ Lounge from 9:30pm and the infectious Brazilian rhythms!

It’s going to be a crazzzyyy weekend over @ Blu Jaz we are starting early with Poetry Slam Night on THURSDAY @ Space. From 8pm onwards, if the written word wants to take a leap to bring about some passion aural, come by and take on the mic.
We be inviting some guests back – Tropic Green, a 7 pc band, playing on the originals written by local artiste – Susan Harmer, is bound to give new sounds and vibessss. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe on FRIDAY. And Pushin’On takes its usual Friday slot but this time, spanning LOUNGE AND SPACE. The word on the street that it’s badass and you’all need to be ready to move it, cos they be mixing hip hop, funk, soul, disco and all sorts of boogie for you. 9pm onwards.
Ayaschool returns this SATURDAY with some hot hot guests – Dawn Ho on vox, Casey on Bass and Eddy on Drums – you know – it’s going to be sultry, sensual – leaving some chills down the spine that ain’t got nuttin’ to do with them ghosts – just a haunting voice. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe. And it’s 44 Beatz returning with Soundscape @ Lounge from 9pm onwards. With DJs RTYPE, DAN BUCKLEY & CLARK, it’s gonna be a night of Dub-step, electro and tech. We are also pleased to host the 1st Reunion of Passion – the group mashes and dispenses a fluid night of a party. From mellow trance to heart pounding house, vice versa and in between, Passion brings the beautiful and discerning friends of the dance floor on a night out of an immersive party. 9pm onwards @ Space

Get ready for the midweek laughs as Jonathan Atheron hosts Stand Up Singapore – our first Wednesdays of the month, encourages aspiring comedians to trudge up to Space and try their hand at impressing our audience. So if you’re feeling in the mood for an open mic night – come on up. Entry from 8pm and at SGD 10 per pax.
And if it’s live jazz you have a hankering for – you’ve come to the right place – Tropic Green is a 7 pc group, led by Susan Harmer and it is some mean sets with original scores that they’ll be putting out there. 9:30pm onwards @ Cafe on Friday. We have a special guests coming into town – Singapore boy Charlie Lim returns with his new EP and he plays @ Space this Friday from 9pm onwards. It’s great sound and in his words on his music : “I can’t put a finger on it without pigeonholing, so the best way I found to deal with the situation is to cook up some story about being the love child of John Mayer and Jackie Chan. Minus the paparazzi and kung fu poses.”
And we’ll be welcoming Ayaschool with open arms this Saturday, complete with one of the biggest, most beautiful voices around: Alemay, Casey S on bass and Muhd Noor on drums – we’re going R&B kids – get your groove on and head on down to Cafe. 9:30pm onwards!
Now as you know, we have a new kid on the block – Piedra Negra - serving addictive Mexican food down Haji Lane, off Beach Road. SynQ is doing a welcome to the new Semester party on 2nd Flr  this Saturday-and it’s a range of music: from lo-fi, chillout, electro, trance with a touch of  raggaeton and b-boy based hip-hop. 9pm onwards yo.
